Not sure where this goes sorry. As you may know, the only way to hurt a soul reaper is with an attack that has spiritual energy in it. Can dbz characters hurt bleach characters? I know that in dragon ball, popo and goku made it clear that when someone suppresses their power level, they're actually literally clearing their soul, hence why goku couldn't sense popo when popo did that. That's the only spiritual energy statement in db I could find. So are dbz character attacks actually able to hurt bleach characters? |

Don't forget Gohan almost killing Goku with the Z-sword. And what about the training they do at Kai's planet. King Kaiisn't dead at the time and he could still interact with ghosts. Unless it's due to the fact that he's a deity in which case I refer back to my Gohan almost killing Goku argument. Heck I'm sure Buu Saga alone proves that the living interacts with ghosts. |

Ghosts are more akin to those white spirits we say at the check-in station. Goku has been stated several times he was allowed to keep his body meaning it's a physical body but it's dead and not decaying. Goku also needed to eat is most likely a habit thing his mind has told him. |

Sooo can dbz characters hurt or even see bleach soul reapers? Also, how would dbz characters fair against soul reaper attacks? They would take them as any other normal attacks right? |

Technically, soul reaper attacks should directly affect one's soul/spirit. Goku hasn't shown any resistance to soul-suck, so he can be hurt by them. Its gonna affect Goku's soul, his physical strength can't defend against it. |

Would dbz characters even able to see them? I mean sensing ki isn't part of the 5 senses and goku can sense souls. I talked about that a little more in my OP. So they should be able to sense them at least right? He also asked about where cells spirit is in other world after he self destructed. Cell doesn't get to keep a body so goku expected to see a soul

Yeah I think they can sense soul reapers and also hurt them, but at the same time they can also get hurt by rieatsu based attacks. Both of them can kill each other |

Would soul reaper attacks do more damage than usual to dbz characters? Vegeta and frieza did withstand the spirit bomb, a spiritual attack(I think) so does that mean they do show resistance to them?

A situation I'd love to see is how things would be if Shinigami fought in Otherworld and vice versa with Soul Society. |

Shinigami's attacks directly hit the soul unlike the spirit bomb...so I think they'd do some damage. |

There is no real difference between spiritual energy and Ki it's just that in Bleach typically only dead people have spiritual energy worth mentioning. Anyone that can sense Ki should be able to sense them just like how the humans in Bleach can sense Hollow. Ki, Chi, Chakra, Reiatsu are all the same thing just represented differently in their series. When Goku dies he still has his Ki in other world because Ki just is someone's spiritual energy upon death anyone tough is effectively a Shinigami. Reiatsu is more of a destructive representation of Ki but it wouldn't harm anyone from DB unless the wielder was vastly superior to the DB character. If you mash the logics together Bleach characters would be killed by most DBZ characters' Ki after Saiyan Saga. |

How do we know for a fact that dbz ki and bleach reiatsu are the same things just with different names?

Because everything like that in manga is just based off the real world chi or chakra but as I said represented in different ways(can't have every series using the exact same powers after all) One series energy = the same as every others Characters just wouldn't understand how people from another series are using their energy so differently but they'd recognize it as the energy from their series. Reiatsu just seems a bit iffy because Shinigami are dead and invisible but reiatsu isn't unique to them or being dead so anyone that can sense energy in a series should be able to see them since they're constructs of energy. So with that early DB or later but sensorarily ignorant characters possibly wouldn't be able to see Shinigami or Hollows however in Bleach it seems just being above average in levels of strength means you can see them so they might anyway just not sense how strong they are at all. |

But how do we for a fact ki is not just physical energy and it's spiritual energy? Is it because sensing ki is not part of the 5 senses? And also because of popo's statement? The thing is, ki is also referred to as the life force energy in all living things. Shinigami are dead and don't have physical bodies so they wouldn't have an energy that is in all living things. What do you think?

If we use Yu Yu Hakusho as a middle ground ki and reiatsu are different.
