However, for the purposes of this game we will only focus on two: Robb Stark: The King in the North (Townies) Joffrey Baratheon: King on the Iron Throne (Mafia) Rules Most of you should know how a mafia game works, but if you don't I'll give a quick explanation. Basically, everyone is given a secret role, either townies or mafia. The townies don't know who is who while the mafia only know who the other mafia are. During each day period of the game, everyone votes to lynch someone, with the object of the game being to lynch all of the mafia. The mafia's target is to survive the whole of the game. During the night period, the mafia can take out one of the townies if they choose. Read through other games to get the gist of it, pretty simple really. Roles The Northern Rebels Robb Stark The King in the North. Robb is the leader of the Northern Rebellion, having been crowned by his lords at the start of the war. He is an accomplished battle commander despite his young age, winning every battle he has ever fought. Controls the forces of both The North and The Riverlands. Special Power: He Who Passes the Sentence, Must Swing the Sword - Once per game, Robb can bypass the voting requirements and execute any player. This must be done through PM to the host. Catelyn Stark Robb's Lady Mother. Having been wife to one Lord Paramount for decades and daughter of another, she is well versed in the political leanings of Westeros. She acts as an adviser to her son in his duties. Special Power: Family, Duty, Honour - Catelyn can protect one player other than herself during the night phase. The same person cannot be protected two nights in a row. This is done through a PM to the host. Bran Stark Prince of Winterfell and the heir to Robb's throne. Crippled at a young age, Bran's longheld dreams of becoming a great Knight are at an end. However, he has discovered new powers and gained the ability to Warg (possess the bodies of other creatures). He is perhaps one of the most important people in this story. Special Power: No One Can Do That Anywhere - Using his powers, Bran can investigate one other player during the night phase. This must be done through a PM to the host. Arya Stark Robb's younger sister. Never acted the lady, Arya was always one to seek the more masculine activities her brothers enjoyed. Having learned the Braavosi style of sword fighting, she's also a very dangerous fighter for her young age. Special Power: N/A Edmure Tully Catelyn's brother and Robb's Uncle. Lord of Rivverun after his father's death, giving Robb the strength of the Riverlands. A well intentioned, if not slightly naive. He genuinely wants the best for the people he rules but his actions do not always provide that. Nevertheless, there are few more loyal than Edmure. Special Power: N/A Brynden Tully (The Blackfish) Catelyn's uncle. Was known as the Blackfish for going against his elder brother, who was the head of the family. A very skilled warrior and tactician, acts as Robb's right hand man. Special Power: The Stark Banners Still Fly Over Riverrun - If Robb is killed before using his power it will pass to the Blackfish. If both are dead, then the power is lost. Greatjon Umber Robb's most loyal bannermen, the first man to proclaim him King in the North. A fierce warrior in his own right and a deeply passionate man, he is more than willing to die for the cause. Special Power: N/A Rickard Karstark Another of Robb's bannermen. Loyal at first but grieving over the death of his son's which can sway his emotions. Robb has a lot on his plate dealing with this man who seems to be on the edge of betrayal. Special Power: N/A Roose Bolton Lord of the Dreadfort, Roose is the head of one of the most mysterious houses in Westeros. With their sigil being a flayed man and Roose's own cunning disposition, it would be foolish to ever fully trust the man. Special Power: The Roose is Loose - At any point in the game Roose can switch to the Mafia team. The Lannisters Tywin Lannister The Lord of Casterly Rock and the Hand of the King. Tywin is undoubtedly the most powerful man in the Seven Kingdoms. His reputation proceeds him to such an extent that just hearing the song "The Rains of Castamere" has been known to frighten many high lords. He is determined when it comes to the pride of House Lannister and will do most anything to secure the family. Also very intelligent and has done just as much harm with a pen and ink than a sword. Special Power: N/A Tyrion Lannister Tywin's son and, by law, the heir to Casterly Rock, though you wouldn't want to tell Tywin that. Possesses his father's intelligence if not his ruthlessness. He does proudly display his Lannister heritage though he also holds a lot of resentment towards the majority of his family, who treat him poorly due to being a dwarf. Genuinely a nice person though arguably fighting on the wrong side. Special Power: N/A Cersei Lannister. Thinks she's Tywin with boobs but she's not. She has a certain low cunning and understands the game enough though is rather poor and playing it. She is rash and over-reliant on her good looks which could easily come back to haunt her. Arrogance is her biggest weakness, often ignoring the glaring problems in her schemes due to a false belief that she is untouchable. Still, she theoretically holds more power than either her father or brother. Special Power: N/A Independent Daenerys Targaryen The Stormborn, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons. She goes by many names. Daenerys is the last of House Targaryen, the Dragon Lords that had united the Seven Kingdoms and ruled Westeros for centuries. With her family now dead, she is the last that can reclaim the throne that was her birthright. Originally a timid little girl, she is now a Queen with three dragons and an army on her side. Daenerys supports neither side, in fact she hopes to see both sides destroy each other. Her goal is to survive until the end of the game with as many players from both sides killed as possible. I quickly read through your explanation, and from that, I found that the game is really difficult. Still sign me up. And by the way, I found in a near book store the game of thrones books. It was the best selling book. Should I get one?

And no, you don't need to know anything about Game of Thrones to play. That's just a theme, it has no effect on gameplay.
