DBZ vs. an Atomic Bomb

Atomic Bombs, radiation, and everything else that comes with an atomic bomb.

What all could any character of DBZ do to handle one of these if he can?
What Super Saiyan forms or transformations should be able to handle this?
Would radiation kill any of them? Could any survive it?

 I'm pretty sure Garlic Jr, Meta Cooler, Android 16, Android 13, and Buu can survive anything from the bomb. The heat won't last long enough and the force of the bomb won't really go far, the radiation is the main problem.

 they survive it radiation won't be a problem i think

Goku drank poison when he was a kid

besides the heat lasts for a split second

The humans would die tho from radiation poison

Also before anyone mention that goku had a heart disease it was never explained how he contacted it,it could have been from space

And trunks said its a virus so intense EVEN a super saiyan can be affected by it

 The radiation would likely kill any DBZ character... except possibly Freeza [and the rest of his species] (if he can survive the radiation in space, perhaps he can survive the radiation from the bomb).... and Buu

The explosion itself... I'd say 5k+ could survive it.

 The force of the blast isn't a problem for the DBZ cast, the problem comes in the form of the heat, which will either roast them or badly burn them. And the radiation, which none of them have defense against.

The only people I imagine surviving the whole package would be the Boo's. They don't have to worry about the radiation and can just regenerate from their ashes if they get burnt to that level.

The disease Goku contracted had a cure made by humans, so it most likely hadn't come from space.

 I'd say anyone capable of creating a ki barrier would be able to stay safe from the radiation. Although I would agree with Vertical, 5000 seems to be a good number for surviving the blast.

 Yeah heat and radiation would be the only issue. The force would be nothing considering Scouter Vegeta can tank attacks over 1 quadrillion times the potency of the strongest atomic bomb the human race has been able to produce. I'm fairly certain Goku could handle that amount of heat at this point, but the radiation, I'm not so sure.

 Most people from Saiyan Arc upwards could probably survive the kinetic damage. Maybe a bit higher but the kinetic damage is the least of the worries.

Now when you start getting into heat and radiation that's a completely different story. The head of the center impact of a nuclear explosion reaches temperatures that nobody in the Z has faced yet. I don't see a single person surviving that beyond a very select individuals who have very selective bodily compositions...mostly regeneration.

Radiation is another thing, we already know Saiyans are well capable of receiving damage from assort of objects like viruses so getting a huge case of radiation poisoning is going to be hell.

In short, if you can't regenerate and or if that strange body composition imaginable, the force of the bomb might not kill them but the other effects would I believe.

only goku was shown to get a virus and we have no idea how it works even vegeta,trunks and gohan didn't catch it so it's not contagious maybe its only contagious to humans

 Actually the temperature of a nuclear explosion of even one dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima had temperatures hotter than the sun itself. Nobody has ever shown to survive such temperatures in DBZ. Since there has never been an exploding planet, there is no way to show that such a thing would be the same thing. Mind you the only people who ever survived exploding planets either had specific durability (Freeza) which honestly bordered on plot, or regeneration for Boo.


The virus shows that Saiyans can get these kind of thigns and that despite their physical nature, they were unable to fight off something effected the body biologically.
