I only really like his Japanese voice.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the statement in the spoilers...
I think his Kai voice sounds female. I don't mean it sounds like the original Funi voice, I mean the original sounded like a woman, and I also think the Kai one does.

I don't know how, I guess it's just the way the voice actor does the voice?

I like Littlekuriboh's voice and Chris Ayres's the best, they sound the most classy and when they get angry, their performance is great.

Linda Young was okay, not as bad as people say. It was mostly her dialogue that sucked

Ocean Frieza was heinous, there was no attempt to make him sound even the slightest bit masculine. At least Funimation put a voice filter

Japanese Frieza is overrated in my book. Yeah, he sounds like a man, but the "Hohoho" just sounds so stupid

I think the crux of the matter is that, when you think about it, it's okay for Freeza to sound a little feminine. It fits the very posh and proper attitude and speaking patterns he uses (when he's not raged-out against someone, anyway), and is a part of the total package that makes him unique.

But the thing is, he's still male. A male voice actor doing a prim and somewhat feminine inflection for a character is VERY different from a female voice actor doing the same thing but also trying to "sound male" at the same time. It becomes too obvious that a female VA is doing the voice. That's a big reason why Chris Ayres and Ryusei Nakao just plain sound so much better and fitting than Linda Young or Paula Newstone.

Now just to make a point, it's a little different from Masako Nozawa voicing Goku and his clones. In that case, she's purposely doing a "young boy" voice, which is better suited for a female VA just as often if not more than a male VA.

For the little i've seen of Freeza's original funimation voice, it's really bad. Seems to be excessively raspy. Most of the dialogue seems overly corny. But i would have to watch more to say for sure.

I've had a lot more contact with Kai's american dub than i did with the original one, and Freeza's voice in that one is the best. It's really fitting for the character. The original japanese is great too, but Chris Ayre's Freeza isa bit better for me.

The Freeza in the brazillian portuguese dub aired here is a interesting case. Instead of making his voice to raspy, they made it to deep. But i think it's fitting for him, even if a little different. The problem is that making it to deep removes a bit of the character's personality.

I am Always Right... Unless When I'm Wrong

For me, I honestly like all three of his voices. But if I had to choose the best one, I would have to go with Chris Ayres, absolutely perfect, not only the fact that he makes him sound like a MAN , he captures the gentleman aspect of Freeza perfectly and makes him sound evil as well. He sounds the way I'd imagine a person like Freeza would sound; small, eloquent, slithery, demanding, even scary.

Ugh, I hate Goku's Japanese voice :T_T:

But yeah, I get your point about Frieza having those feminine tones

Growing up in South Korea I can say this. Korean Freeza have a much better voice actor than Funimation Z Freeza. However Korean Freeza takes the case as worst Freeza voice. It's 100% female and there is no denying it. She sounded badass when she was screaming though but I should not be thinking Freeza is sexy with that voice O_o.

To be honest, she a good actress.
but just like you said, she's not fit for frieza.
A better choice would be #18.

I feel the same way about Linda Young in other roles. She's great as Genkai from Yu Yu Hakusho, and I kind of like her voices for Baba and Selypa too. She's just not suited anywhere near as much for Freeza.

MasakoX is great at letting Goku's true character shine, but he still does so in a parody series, where everyone's character traits are exaggerated to great lengths for comedy effect. It would remain to be seen how well he'd do as Goku in a more subtle and "serious" dub.

The only example of such I can remember is his voicing Goku for ScrewAttack's Goku Vs Superman video. But I don't recall much to go on, since most of it was short one-liners and the intro scenes were actually in a full-force Team Four Star comedic style.
