Characters becoming useless, a bad thing?

Honestly, the re-emergence of the Kaioken would have worked wonders here (at least for the humans, Piccolo would have become way too powerful with it).

Piccolo though was the most glaring example of a character who never should have not fallen to the wayside.

Never tought about it, but it would be great to give Kaioken to the humans. They probably wouldn't defeat the villains, but they could at least help the plot adavance.

The entire Namek saga Krillin basically did everything, so he was far from utterly useless to that point. He puts up a good fight in the Ginyu arc and even manages to cut 2nd form Freeza's tail off, which I regard as an accomplishment for a human. Then there is the utter badassery that is Tien in Cell saga...

I love the humans, and some of my favorite parts of the series is when they are totally outclassed yet still manage to be relevant.

It would be great and it will also make sense. They did travel to Kaio-Samas world and they didn't learn it after remaining there for such a long time, this would be logical and cool, but they didn't introduce it either. And to be honest even with Kaioken I can't see the humans be useful power wise in the Cell arc at least, even with that.

I don't think they were so far behind the base Saiyans that the Kaioken wouldn't have made them useful. Especially with Krillin since one of the first things he makes mention of is that he would be more confident in fighting the Androids if he could turn into a Super Saiyan as well.

Granted, this would also heavily depend on the Super Saiyan multiplier

Of course it's a bad thing!

f***! It went from the "Z Fighters" to "Goku. and his less important friends." f***ing hell! And of course the only characters who are important are the white skinned, blonde haired, and relatively blue eyed members of the "strongest race", as illustrated by a Japanese man.

This just reminded me of something else that would have helped. More actual group fights rather than one on ones. Actual team work would have helped.

Considering in Biu saga we are arguing that base saiyans might be stronger than Piccolo in base, at least in the Buu saga they would be useless, now on Cell arc maybe in some few instances they could prove to be useful, but not anything special something like Piccolo I think.
