Try to find some theoretical real life version of it, if an energy beam is possible then you have your answer "A directed-energy weapon (DEW) emits energy in an aimed direction without the means of a projectile. The real question is where does this life force truly come from? I have my beliefs on that.

Ki is simply energy, and it's a force that both penetrates everything and exists everywhere. A reading of battle power is ki that's influenced by your physical ability to exploit its properties. So even if the reading on a scouter is a raw measurement of ki, how your reading comes out is influenced by your ability to control and manipulate that ki. Logic dictates that people who are physically fit have an easier time at controlling their ki than someone who isn't, even if an unfit person may have a higher ki. So in short, ki itself has nothing to do with anything physical, but how your ki appears to others in the concept of "battle power" does depend on your physical ability. I really like what you just wrote and it kind of makes me rethink some of those battle power numbers and how they compare to each other in the early DBZ sagas, and some of those "gap" arguments and all of that... Though I think the debate isn't what battle power represents, it's what ki itself is. I agree with everything that you just posted just that it's not really saying ki still isn't something physical...physical as in a part of the natural universe. Think of psychics, some claim their ability(if one exists at all) would be spiritual in nature; foresight and telepathy and all of that would just be an extension of their spiritual selves. There are others that would say a psychics ability is a naturally occurring phenomenon that takes place in the brain and is entirely an extension of the brain processes that occur... This is what I think some of us are arguing about ki being physical, not spiritual. The same way telepathy could be physical and not spiritual.

We only think some things are physical because our eyes can see it as such but when you look at seemingly physical objects under a highly magnified microscope everything is atomic energy at it's core.
