I recall asking something similar to this a year ago, but I can't manage to dig it up. What exactly is the difference between the banned category, and the GTFO category? Both are much more severe than suspended if I'm assuming correctly.

They both ban people from the forum but GTFO is more severe and it's basically just supposed to be a statement that the person really f***ed up with whatever they did. |

To be more precise it goes as follows: Suspended: You've reached the point where you need a break from the forum, however it is expected that you will appeal and there is a decent possibility of you returning. Sometimes this may happen simply to allow a discussion between staff and a member who is not responding properly to warnings. Banned: You've usually been Suspended at least once, and you aren't really able to appeal again, however there is still a chance you may be let back in after an appropriate amount of time and talk with the staff. GFTO: Pretty much you've done something to reach the point where myself and Rogue have decided we no longer want you on the forum. Period. If you get this good luck ever coming back. This is usually complimented by IP bans. Sometimes run on bots by other smods, however only really a select few will run this on normal members. Hope that helps and bare in mind it's no set rule so much as just my way of looking at it :P There are more details about how each one works that there is no point going into here. That's good for you to explain that Tim because I also wondered about this. Every other Forum I've been on, Banned was along the lines of what GTFO is here. Once you were banned, there was no hope of being let back in. I got banned a couple times in my youth (back when I was a stupid and annoying 15 year old), and to be entirely honest, I just ended up re-registering under a different name and playing it off as if I had no clue who that other person was (if anyone had come to suspect). However, sometimes the Admins that banned me were... just so stupid. |

As a formerly suspended member myself, I have to say that being suspended is not as harsh as being banned or GTFOed. But if I had to say something, the mod who banned me along with a mod who watched it happen are very power hungry and should be punished. |

As a previously GTFO'd member, I'd advise you to never ever let it get that far. Its just way too pink

Tim's got it. I'd also like to add you can come back from a GTFO. I did. I believe I am the only one to come back from a GTFO in DBZF history. It was a long time ago. Before all of you really were here basically. I got into a very heated argument with Rogue on MSN Messenger and it culminated in me being GTFO'd for a little while. I have no idea what the argument was about but it was pretty serious. Edited by Sam, Jan 15 2014, 10:05 AM.

That seems to give some people hope considering that you've managed to both get Super modship, and GTFO'd. |

Yeah, but that seems more like a fixed mistake as your personal relationship with one member OFF of a forum shouldn't interfere with your ability to go on the forum. I would say that people are legitamately GTFO'd due to their conduct on DBZF prooooobably don't come back too often. |

Seems like a foolish question but when you are banned, are you restricted in what you can view on the board or are you able to look but not interact? (I imagine that is the case in a GTFO that got IP banned) |

I believe you can view the appeal section even if you are GTFO. Not 100% sure on that, but I believe until you're IP banned, you can log in and see it. Edited by SSJ, Jan 16 2014, 01:38 AM.

Fair enough on that. Are you aware of any restrictions for Banned users? |

Like pure banned? Or just banned in general? Suspended members can still view the active user list if I'm recalling correctly, and they can also view the appeal section. I don't recall if they can view their pm system, but I know they can't send any pms. |

I was talking those put into the Banned group but if that is the restrictions for a Suspended user I can only imagine it is more strict for a Banned user. |

Yes it is more strict. Banned members can't see anything I don't think. I believe they see "Error" if they go anywhere on the forum. They can't even see the board. Actually I'm not sure, perhaps that is just what I've heard from an IP banned member. |
