But what I think is missing is background on some characters like for example friezas family. In my opinion the big amount of character development dbz has makes up for it What do you think the series is lacking that it would benefit from?

Posts: 81 Group: Member Member #9,389 Joined: April 17, 2013	We still know very little about the Saiyans themselves and their history aside from a few brief flashbacks and the special, Earth is also a huge mystery in many ways. Lots of plotholes and unexplained settings but that is just DBZ.

Google Favourite Manga Dragon Ball; FLCL; Berserk; Durarara!!	That's the deal with Dragon Ball Z that kinda rings true to Star Wars if you're unfamiliar with the Expanded Canon. There's so much in the universe that isn't known, isn't explained because the main series itself didn't need to concern itself with it. Dragon Ball started as a parody of Journey to the West. It became something much bigger, but it still knew what it was: a series about burly martial artist superhumans duking it out. There wasn't any need to tell us the sociopolitical nature of the Planet Trade Organization, or the history of Capsule Corporation. That's what an Expanded Canon's for. Dragon Ball Z hasn't seen its Knights of the Old Republic either. Perhaps the upcoming "season" of DBZ movies (or new material) that deals with the Gods will help fill in some gaps, but I have a feeling Toriyama-san will be mostly leaning towards making DBZ more gag-filled (like the Buu saga, Goku and Friends Return, and BoG) than fleshing it out. And what does qualify as 'expanded canon', DBZ diehards won't accept as canon to begin with. So this may be best left to the exciting realm of fanfiction. Until a proper EC does come about, if it does.

He doesn't seem to care about a whole lot in Dragon Ball, therefore it leaves pretty much half the "facts" in the series to be filled in by generally unwarranted fan-theories. However, this also works in our favor because it keeps debates alive, even after practically 30 years.
	The vengeance is her's for as long as she stands by Him.

Chrome	Showing there training a bit more. More Tournaments More fights less bulls* like Garlic jr. i found that the most boring part ever. a new season. No mpre transformations. If i see a canon version of Super Saiyan 4 i will personaly murder each of toei animations workers. having the bad guys win for once and not like baby did in gt for few episodes. Majin Buu's baby and wife.
