Base Goku vs Frieza?

I used to think & remember this fight being rather even, but I recently re-watched it & it seems that Frieza had more than a noticeable advantage over Goku. He didn't even look like he was trying the entire fight & took it rather easy (he even fought without his hands at 1 point & still managed to dodge most of Goku's hits besides maybe 2), yet I usually see people putting him about even with Goku.

Maybe that's just the Show though because I haven't reade the Manga.

What do you think?

The actual fight in the manga is pretty much dead equal. Goku dodges some hits, Freeza dodges some hits, Goku gets hit a few times, Freeza gets hit a few times. Its stated both of them are going easy at the time and the fight shows it. In the manga, there isn't really any real advantage to either side. It's only after they decided to start get down to business that Freeza actually starts getting that real advantage over Goku.

Doing a battle transcript
Their fists clash
Goku dodges Frieza's punc
Frieza dodges Goku's punch
Goku dodges Frieza's kick
Goku dodges Frieza's eye beams
Frieza dodges Goku's chop
Frieza fires his Death Flash
Goku deflects it and Frieza looks rather annoyed that Goku deflected it
Frieza uses a kiai
Goku uses his own kiai which Frieza breaks out of
Frieza kicks Goku into the water
Goku distracts Frieza with the Dragon Shot before kicking him in the face
Goku states that that hit didn't even faze Frieza
Frieza uses Imprisonment Ball and the Hand-Foot Battle begins

Hits landed
Goku: 2
Frieza: 2/3 (Depends if you think that Frieza hit Goku wit his first kiai)

They are pretty even but Frieza has the advantage the entire battle. to the point where Goku's off-gaurd kick to the face is stated to have not even fazed Frieza, a fact which shocks Goku. This is a warm-up however so no one was fighting seriously

Yeah Freeza and Goku were pretty much dead equal before Freeza started not using his hands. At that point he began powering up.

Goku's skills saved him a few times to have a equal fight, as his H2H combat were impressive.

I am Always Right... Unless When I'm Wrong

We know Goku's base at that point was 3 million, meaning Freeza had to be somewhere around there too. I'm in the opinion his true PL should be around 145 million to put up the fight he did later so in the beginning if he would have to use around 2% of his power putting him at 2,900,000 vs Goku's 3,000,000 which would still be perfect to put up the even fight, which is exactly what we see in the manga (the 1% only line in the Eng dub is just stupid and completely butchers up everything). 2.5% if people agree with 120 million.

I think the anime isn't a good thing to reconcile powerlevels for. Let's keep in mind that the anime was catching up to the manga real quick and it had to drag out the battles as long as it did, hence why Frieza did so well at 100% against SSj Goku. In the manga he never had a chance.

In anime Frieza was shown to be more powerfull than Goku, especially when he lifted a mountain with he's godamn mind lol how did he do that?in the manga they were even until Frieza decided to not use hands then he started to got beat up
