There is, at-least in my opinion no reason for them to be nerfed because their canon selves wouldn't do much better than they did in the Movie.

	list of canon sources: the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga. list of non canon sources: everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality. for those that blindly follow word of god

Google Chrome	It's Toei, they have Base Saiyans fighting constantly against stronger foes. See Janemba and Android 13 for some glaring examples

Chrome Favourite Manga One Punch Man	Neither one. I say Gohan fighting Broly in base is just the type of "warm up" round that Toei loves to do with the movies. Let the two main combatants dance a little bit at lower levels before ramping it up to their strongest forms (LSSJ for Broly and SSJ2 for Gohan). For all we know, the only reason Toei had Gohan fight in base is because his SSJ1 and SSJ2 are pretty much indistinguishable, and so going from one to the other wouldn't have much impact.
