That's in the West, Steve, which hardly matters since One Piece already has competition in the West. In Japan, a load adults read it in comparison to other shounen for other reasons.

That's really just a summary of what the series has in it not why people actually enjoy it though that's written from the perspective of someone who understands all the themes, not compiled from data on public opinion. It would say if it was.

It's probably less popular in the west because the anime dub is terrible(I think that's a largely held opinion anyway) and "Urgh it's in f***ing Chinese or something that's stupid why don't they just speak English, I can't read when I'm also trying to see things!"

Novacane for the pain

Naruto's volumes also say something similar, so that doesn't really mean anything.

Have to lol at that source you provided as well. Every other manga on that list shows only Japanese sales, except for Dragon Ball which has its international sales added to it. Because that is totally far isn't it? You can tell because all the other series has the same numbers as the first source, except Dragon Ball which has worldwide sales figures. I even checked the Japanese source which says the same thing.

The back of Death Note and Claymore both say "the world's most cutting edge manga." Those are shonen jump slogans.

Writing something false is better marketing. It makes it look much better.

Ok that's true but why the heck put it on the dbz manga and not on One Piece?we literally proven here that One Piece is first and DragonBall second but Shonen Jubm states that DragonBall is the most popular :)

I said it's a shonen jump slogan. Going off that logic, Claymore is the world's most cutting edge manga. Which is basically the same thing.

And why would that be false?it seems that the shonen jumps slogan fits at Claymore and the same can be told about DragonBalls slogan being the most popular one Imo most popular and best sales are not the same you guys :)

And why would that be false?
Because someone might read Claymore and think that it isn't the most cutting edge manga...whether or not Claymore and Death Note are the most cutting edge manga is up to people's opinions (not to mention, if Claymore is "the most cutting edge," why put the same thing on Death Note volumes? It's just a way to get people to buy the manga).

These are just slogans, slogans are used for advertising purposes, they don't necessarily provide concrete facts.
