Hello there! Phase 2 of the competition is where the nominees were given 10 questions about themselves, this forum, and the members here. Here is what the questions were:
--
1) DBZF is a forum where a lot of people would say has made them great friends. After joining this forum compared to where you are today who is your best friend on the forum and why (note: If you mention more than one member in any fashion your answer will be shown as refusal to answer)?
2) Since you're competing in this competition it must mean you love this forum right? Well what is one change the staff has made since you joined that you really liked or agreed with and praise the staff for doing so (only mention one) and why?
3) Along with enjoying things, another key quality in a member of this forum no matter what rank is being able to speak out against the staff in professional manners about things you disagree with. Since you've joined the forum which decision made by staff do you disagree with most and why (only mention one)?
4) If you could describe dbzf, the forum with one adjective what would it be and why?
5) If you could change one thing about the forum no matter what it was (deleting a section, adding one, adding certain staff, getting rid of staff, etc) what would it be and why?
6) Link me the proudest post you've made on dbzf since you've been here and explain why you're proud of it.
7) Link me to the post you're least proud of why and explain to me why you're not proud of it.
8) What's your favorite anime/manga besides dbz and why?
9) The last time you ever visit this forum, because we all leave eventually what do you think your rank will be and why (regular member, legend, retired staff, admin adviser, banned, elite, etc)?
10) If you don't win this competition who should win (that's competing) and why?
--
Now in case you see a response that says 'refusal to answer' that means that they declined to answer the question or didn't follow the directions given. That is taking account in the judges scoring, however the community obviously gets to vote (when the poll is up) for whoever they want, why ever they want, so feel free to ask nominees why they might not have answered some questions, or why they answered questions the way they did or how you agree/disagree with them. A poll will be up in 1-2 days so be thinking about which answers you preferred and are fitting for the title of Mr/Mrs DBZF!
Barbossa 1) Truth be told, I don't really feel that I've been around long enough to make 'great friends,' unfortunately. 2) Ah. Let's see. Have there been any changes since I joined in my short time here. Ah. I really like the ability to call users because I find it a unique feature in all of the forums that I frequent, and I feel it's something that allows DBZF to stand out from the rest in my mind. 3) Again, I don't think I haven't been around long enough to give an example of such. So I apologise for not answering. 4) Amusing! There's rarely a dull moment on these forums! 5) A difficult query! Perhaps, if I had the power to do so, I'd like to have additional themes available to use. Don't get me wrong, I love the simplicity of the default one! I just find that, after lurking around the gfx section the past week, some other members should have a go at putting forth banners for new themes considering the impressive spec of their work. 6)http://dbzf.co.uk/single/?p=8864776&t=8434642 i thought it a very fitting quip at the time. And it's very rare that I come up with anything genuinely snappy. So I was extra pleased that others liked it too, as it makes me smile every time I read it. 7) http://dbzf.co.uk/topic/8431997/1/#newUpon reflection I realised that this was a rather lame idea. At least in my mind. 8) I rather liked the manga The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer. It was a nice, short story that featured talking animals, which I love, working alongside human partners with unique powers and a Princess (not a typical one in any sense of the word) in order to stop an ridiculous threat; the fall of a gigantic hammer currently poised overhead Earth, whose descent could ultimately mean the end of the world! It's mostly lighthearted and funny, with some rare moments of heartache and genuine seriousness. I enjoyed it particularly because, in a shonen - soaked climate of lengthy plots and drawn out fights, it was like a breath of fresh air. 9) I think I will still simply be a regular member. I don't believe there's anything about me that would warrant promotion, at least in comparison to some of my fellow competitors. 10) Damn, must I choose but one? Ultimately they're all better than me. So, uh, any of the others, I guess? Haha.
Pookie 1) My best friend on the forum is Strawberry. At first, before we got to know each other, we were always fighting about silly stuff like Chichi and/or Android 18. However, when I really got to know her, I found out that she was a special person. She was that type of person who could walk into a room and light it up. Despite our differences in opinion, she has helped me grow as an individual and to learn to expand my thoughts. I remember all those times, during my depression, where I'd go to her for help. She was there for me in my darkest moments even though she was across the Atlantic. I think, in a way, she kept me strong during those times. I'll never forget what she told me one time. It will forever remain in my memory. "I don't know why you have trouble believing how special you are. The only person who is holding you back from seeing it is you." Even if she doesn't remember saying this because of all the nights she may have partied here and there, it has stuck with me. We always joke around on the forum about being drunk or being ridiculous, however, that's my way of saying how close she is as a person to me. I'll never forget all those MSN chats we used to have. She is really amazing. For this reason, I did not hesitate for a second to write down her name. Everything I have said is from the bottom of my heart. Straw <3 P.S Spoiler: click to toggle 2) The best change the staff have made throughout my stay here on DBZF is allowing people to vote for others to become elite. In the past, it was usually just a decision by the staff members. Now and days it's more-so a community thing which is good because it allows members to feel like their voice is important and can help bring positive change to the forum. By acknowledging members and allowing the community to vote for elite members, this gives everyone as a whole something to strive for. You're more than just a number in DBZF. 3) A decision that I had disagreed on with other staff members was when we allowed Necifix to stay as a super moderator for as long as we had. The reason was because I've had a lot of bad blood between him since the day I joined the forum. I remember when I was a moderator, I was gone for 3 months because I was super busy with school and had major depression, yet I was demoted off the team. When I came back to the forum, I had to work my way back to becoming a staff member again. Necifix's dedication to the forum was never in question despite the fact that he was missing for a couple of months. However, sometimes I did feel like decisions were unfairly made because of how long he has been on the forum. As of right now though, he is doing an excellent job so that decision I disagreed with worked out for the better. 4) Amazing 5) II'd get rid of the religious debates because I feel like nothing good ever comes out of it. Everyone has the right to believe what they want to believe. Even though I know everyone has the right to their opinion, I just don't think there will ever be an agreement on what's out there because, as humans, we just don't know. 6) http://dbzf.co.uk/topic/8360891/1/I was proud of this post because I finally broke out of a barrier that seemed to be holding me back. There was so much passion/emotion in this post, and I wanted to convey it as best as I could so that when I read back on it, I'd remember that I'm someone special. I'm someone worth fighting for. 7) http://dbzf.co.uk/topic/22135/1/There were some posts in here that I wasn't proud of because I allowed my passion for Chichi get in the way. I was rude and very child like. I do still think she would kick Videl's a***, but that's besides the point. 8) My favorite anime besides DBZ would be Gundam Wing because I felt like the entire series had a purpose from start to finish. The story was intriguing, suspenseful, and dramatic. There is a character on there for everyone. I have to say that Trieze Kushrenada still remains one of my favorite anime characters of all time. I'd definitely recommend it for anyone. 9) I've left the forum a couple of times, and I always came back. If I did leave for good, I'd like to be remembered as a legendary member. 10) I would like Krystal to win because I feel like she is a spark of life to this forum. She truly brings a bubbly, almost fairy tale like glow to this community.
Rogue 1) I'm going to say Rogue, I know that's myself but never said I couldn't be my own best friend and I am certainly a member of this forum, I have been around for a long time and got to know myself very well, as well as seeing myself develop into the person I am today. I remember being quite a poor poster, but I have come a long way, I have never had an argument with myself nor fallen out, so that's why I am my best friend. 2) The change I like the most is the record keeping of warnings in the staff area, I know this gives everyone an insight into one of the things there, but it makes investigations much easier for myself and other members of the Admin team. So it's defiantly a good change and couldn't have been possible without the involvement of the rest of the staff, it could easily have fallen apart, so that's something I'd praise the staff for and something which has made things easier. 3) I think this is an unfair question to ask myself, the majority of major decisions generally go through myself and Tim, so if I had a strong disagreement, it probably wouldn't make it through, if I had to pick one, it'd probably be the relaunch of the Other Versus section, while I'm not overly concerned with the section, I am still a little skeptical of if it'll work as it has been thought up, due to some previous problems in the past. 4) Large - Because it is large, in terms of scrolling and some of the posts and members have some large personalities, no I'm not calling anyone fat, lol. 5) Demote Tim, just because. 6) http://dbzf.co.uk/topic/8381740/1/Possibly the Year Book for Baka and Test, it might not have been too popular on this forum, but the topic was fun to make and it's still nice to look at, I could have named any number of silly joke topics I have made, but those I don't really remember as well. My only regret is not filling the year book up. 7) http://dbzf.co.uk/topic/8275351/1/ Possibly the Pokemon Black/White Friend Codes topic, it was something I thought I could keep track of and keep updated, but for whatever reason, I seemed to lose interest, which makes it a failure of a topic in my opinion, it could have been useful. 8) It often depends on my mood at the time, it's possible still going to be The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, I like the main character, she is amusing, not so much the romance between her and Kyon, didn't really enjoy those bits as much. But it also had a sort of court scene, that was good to see as someone who plays Phoenix Wright as well, the out of place ordering made it a little more interesting too. 9) Most likely remain as head admin, I'll probably be the one who turns the lights out, I've nearly retired on several occasions but it never happens, while I may seem inactive at times, I'm always here, watching from a distance, I don't really get as involved on the main forum anymore, mainly sticking behind the scenes. So I will be here when everyone else has left, I suppose I am the guardian of the forum. 10) Honestly? It's not something that I have thought about, never even considered winning in the first place, I'm just here for the fun. But I'll say Smochi, I don't really have a reason other than just because, so yeah, there's my answer! And done. ~R
Krystal 1) Refusal to answer 2) - I feel like I joined in a weird period where it’s long enough ago for me to forget something, but not long enough to be here for the ground-breaking that others have been here for. XD I would have to say that I think one of the smallest changes was one of the most beneficial though! When I joined, the ‘about me’ thread counted as posts. Even for myself I think that it’s always easier to talk about yourself than it is to truly interact with other people, so removing the ability for posts to count in that thread provides an incentive for meaningful interaction that bonds the members. I’ll be honest; I can’t remember a lot of the questions I asked others in the thread for quick numbers, but I do remember the in depth conversations I have about singular topics I have with people on the forum, and THOSE are what shape my opinions about someone and make me feel like I know them better. When someone is asked a question in those threads, it’s often a funny or superficial one that is entertaining for me to read as an observer, but in the same vein it also tells me relatively little about the person answering because it is a question that was given to them, not something that they went out of their way to say. In topics however, whether it’s about DBZ, general events, or deep discussion, I find out what draws someone to a topic. What their passions are, what matters most to them, and how they conduct themselves when countering an opinion they disagree with. I think that the way a person thinks says so much more than the things they think about because while everyone has opinions, the most influential people are ones who can use words to move others. By making people engage in meaningful and reciprocal conversation in order to advance on this forum, I think the staff has provided a way to allow the members to be seen in their full beauty and cement their relationships with others. 3) - This is going to come up again in this questionnaire (sorry), but last year’s April Fool’s day joke to me was by far the worst decision I think the staff made since I joined. And when I say by far I don’t mean that it was ERMAGHERD SO AMAZNGLY HORRIBLE I HOPE UR B& FOREVERZ, it was just the one I disagreed with the most because it was a direct manipulation of the relationships that you as staff and fellow members tried so hard to cultivate. Even as a joke, it really went against everything I stand for on this forum, which is taking advantage of someone who cares about you. The joke involved fake banning, fake shaming, and then essentially telling the members to fought so hard to defend people they though were being treated badly ‘chill, it was a joke.’ It made a lot of members feel stupid or punished for caring about people they met on the internet so much that they were actually bothered by their mistreatment. It taught them to maintain a distance in fear of being toyed with, and out of every forum I’ve EVER been to, this is the one that feels like it has the biggest potential of being a true found family. I’ve seen a few relationships on the forum STILL strained because of this singular event, so it naturally is the worst decision. Most decisions regarding the forum are met with mixed opinions that come and go, but this one has the longest-lasting hard feelings, so I feel it wasn’t a great idea. 4) - Therapeutic. I think it’s a forum that could have room in anyone’s life. Whether someone needs to vent, laugh, to be made happy or to make someone happy, there’s a way to accomplish that on here. It provides a healthy and social way to engage in conversations that we may be too nervous or reserved to do in real life. It provides a support group that you know is ALWAYS there, and it’s a lot easier to go through life knowing you have people that will listen to your troubles and care. It’s not like we never go through problems alone, but DBZF makes lets us know that we don’t have to. 5) - I’m honestly not sure what I would do. I guess I’m more of a rule follower than a rule maker, so I am honestly just happy with the way things are. I guess that one idea is maybe a designated weekly skype call so everyone can meet and talk face to face! We could have someone operate as a ‘host’ and an announcement each week on when the next week’s one will be. That way people can have time to fit it into their schedule and we could all sort of hang out! 6) - http://dbzf.co.uk/single/?p=8410074&t=8336684I guess it would have to be this one. It’s DBZ related, but I think it showcases the reason that I love the show and the way I see the world. Normal, everyday people are so beautiful, yet cast aside for those that are extraordinary. I think that if people had more role models like Gohan who saw how wonderful the average human life is, they would be a lot happier with who they are. People are born being good enough, there’s nothing to prove. 7) - http://dbzf.co.uk/topic/8409675/1/This is the joke I said I would mention again from last April. I am not ashamed of any particular post in it, but of my candor and presence in it as a whole. The reason I am is because it is a testament to why I don’t have many friends. I have a strong sense of justice, but no filter when it comes to pointing out injustices in that I will, 100% percent of the time tell people when I think they did bad or treated someone poorly. This is such a flaw in my character, because I usually come off as being ‘holier than thou,’ or fake. There’s a fine line between those who are really bothered by something and those who say the right thing constantly just to LOOK like a better person, and I feel that because I go out of my way to get my two cents in so often, I look like that. It’s hard to have your words taken seriously when everyone already knows what you’re going to say. Nobody wants to be told they’re wrong, so I’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved and the forum in general for continuing to respect and (dare I say) like me even when I openly disagreed with people’s actions. A lot of my real life friends usually don’t do that. To speak when I have an opinion, and to have opinions that usually weigh the feelings of others more than the entertainment or intention of a particular action is just the way I’m wired, and may never change. Because of that, I distance myself from people who I so desperately want to like me. They either take me less seriously because it’s just ‘Krystal being Krystal,’ or remove themselves from my life as a whole because my criticisms are not worth putting up with to keep me around. A lot of people can’t simply accept it as a quirk or flaw on my part, but you guys did. I’m glad I was still welcomed on DBZF, and if I ever overstay my welcome like this again, I will be forever thankful if you guys continue to be as understanding (even if a few stfu’s are involved). I’m working on this, but gosh I have such a big mouth . 8) - Nuuuuuuuuuu why you do this to me? I have a horrible case of AADOS (Anime Attenion Deficit –Oh Shiny!) disorder, and I am obsessed with whatever I am currently watching/reading. Right now, I am finally reading the Gantz manga for the first time and am falling head over heels in love with the franchise all over again after years of seeing the anime. It’s about a world where right after/just as you die, a copy of you is sent to an apartment where you must assassinate aliens under the direction of GANTZ, a large black ball. Kill enough, and you’re free to live your second chance at life. I love it because it is a visual and emotional rollercoaster. It makes me ponder the transiency and meaning of life, while constantly showing me the beauty of it and a reason to ALWAYS fight for it. The characters are so flawed, which makes them endearing, and you see such character development as you go through the journey with them. It’s fantastic and I recommend both the anime and manga to anyone (albeit the anime will leave you wanting more, so I actually recommend watching it before reading it). 9) - I hope I keep my newly aquired elite status, but I will always see myself as a regular member. I don’t think I have the leadership skills, respect required, and vision to be a staff member who can continuously employ elements to the forum that everyone would be happy with. Maybe nobody can do that, but the fact that it would bother me so much if everyone wasn’t happy shows that I don’t even have a thick enough skin to do it. I have no idea what a legend is, so I doubt I have it in me to attain that rank either. XD I hope I’m not banned. Whatever I am though, I’m just happy being here, and I hope a spend many more years watching the forum grow. 10) - I hate the questions where I have to put anyone above someone else (in case you couldn’t tell from answer, well lack of answer for number one). However, I really think it should be Pookie, for a myriad of reasons. The first one is because this is the first Mrs. DBZF competition, so while I would normally want to vote for the newest member to give them motivation and a reason to stay on here, I also want the first one to go to someone who I’ve seen grow and transform in my years here. Pookie was so kind and open when I first joined, and I’ve watched her grow into an amazing and beautiful (as always) woman. I unfortunately can’t say what goes on in her real life, but I would like to think that DBZF somehow contributed to her being the person she is today, and what better spoke person for a forum than a bona fide product of it? I don’t know Pookie personally, but I’m still so proud of her when I see her post. So maybe I’m biased because I feel I know her best out of the other competition, but getting to know her is reason enough to love the forum and see that she’s an amazing person.

Since no one has commented I will first!
Despite all the great answers I will say that my favorite is the answer Rogue gave to question #6:

We actually had a lot of fun with that in getting some members to watch it because at the time only me and Rogue had seen it and we would constantly reference the characters to the members here and it was funny how it always worked out. I wish that sub-forum had more activity but it was certainly fun for the small amount of time it was active and the irc discussion that followed.

@Smochi I don't get one thing, in answer #3 you say the April's Fool joke was the one forum decision you strongly disagreed with (for the record, I agree) but then in answer #7 your least proudest moment here is standing up/arguing against that decision, how come? What would you change exactly, you would rather not have said anything on the matter?

There is a typo in my answer for question 6 xD. I meant to put Krystal instead of Kira. I was half asleep when I wrote that response. I wanted to just make that clear for Krystal because I truly meant what I said about her. I was thinking about her when I wrote it too.
I loved all the responses though. They were great.

@Barbossa About #7, don't feel bad about that it wasn't lame at all; it's just not one of the most popular sections (besides prof's fanfic lol) and people can be lazy readers (like me), doesn't necessarily mean it was a bad idea. We all have failed threads here and there.
@Pookie I didn't know about the change you refer in #2, cool one for sure. Do you really think the forum should get rid of religious debates? Even if some subjects concerning it have been exhausted by the current members in here, it is still too popular a topic that generates a lot of interest and the fact that full agreement will never be reached is part of the fun in the matter and what keeps it alive.
@Rogue Your answer in #5 is with the purpose to finally reach full undivided power right
@Krystal Loved all the dedication you put to your answers, very interesting read. "I am obsessed with whatever I am currently watching/reading" I'm the same way, my favorite show/series is whatever I'm hooked with atm.also - Quote:

I disagree, it's important to "put yourself out there" not only for the possibility of influencing other but also because your opinions and feelings matter. It's not like you're looking back at a subject that you made a big deal about before but now looks small, you obviously felt it was important enough to choose it as the one big forum decision you disagreed with, so I don't see one good reason for you not to have expressed your opinions on it. Besides, I appreciated your posts at the time (and still do) because I didn't care for the prank either and I'm sure others appreciated them too, if for no other reason thah having one more head of support against 20 others calling you oversensitive.

I enjoyed reading these honestly. Good luck to all the girls! I think you outshined the boy's answers. Like, really...you truly took time to think of your answers, and it shows.
@Saiyan Femme: You ask critical questions and I like that. Keep being cool.
I'm out.

I'm so sad.

Practically all four of you gave me some good laughs, especially Rogue with her number one. Wish I could say I wasn't my own worst enemy
I'm definitely gearing up for the next round!

Yes, I do think we should stop religious debates because I feel like there won't ever be enough proof to prove anything. I don't think humans will ever know everything, therefore, people will just go in circles. I mentioned before that I do believe religious topics should be up only because some new members may want to state an opinion. Other then that, I don't see the point.
