This topic is not suggesting ANYTHING at all, but does anyone else think that Tom Brady is slowly declining? It's not to say he is playing bad. However, I think this is a topic that most New England fans will hate to talk about or avoid speaking of because of how amazing Tom Brady is. I know what kind of troubles he has had these couple of weeks with receivers dropping balls, but I was watching the game against the Jets. He was overthrowing some people, and he didn't look as sharp as he usually does. I've noticed this in a couple of games. Either way, we all know that everyone is mortal so is it possible that Tom Brady may be feeling some mortality? He is still considerably young because he is only 36, but I don't knowww. This topic seemed interesting. |

I think its to do with his WR's. I do believe he has declined a bit from his very great days, but it seems like he has zero chemistry and zero confidence in his WR corps. I still can't believe they let Welker go. Stupidest thing ever. |

When he starts throwing picks ill be worried about Brady I've seen some beautiful passes dropped this season. He's still got the skills to succeed, but he needs the targets to do that |

I'm obviously not suggesting anything because Tom Brady is still playing great, but I do see that he isn't as productive as he used to be. I also see his passes not being as accurate as previous years. However, the two of you are right. His receivers have been pretty bad. |

He may be declining a bit, but with peyton's WR's I think he would be doing much better. |

@Gohan- Of course, he absolutely would be doing better. However, this is a topic that will come up sooner or later. It's a topic that most people will not even fathom talking about until the Patriots start losing more games. I just thought it was interesting that some analysts brought it up. |

Granted the Broncos had Tebow in 2011, but Decker and Thomas were not that good without Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning totally elevated there play. Aaron Rodgers turned Jarrett Boykins this week into a stud. James Jones was nothing before injuries decimated the Packers in 2012 and Rodgers again turned him into a stud. Greg Jennings is suffering without A-Rod, though he is with the three headed trio of awfulness in Minnesota.. Drew Brees has worked with a below average receiving core his entire career in New Orleans. Sure Marques Colston is good, but the dude was a 6th rd pick. Brees is making him look good. Sure Graham is ridiculously talented, but outside of him, Brees has been playing with pass catching rbs and Colston. Brady has long been lauded for his ability to turn nobodies into superstars. Either that abilitiy of his was exaggerated or he is declining. Player A: 158-285, 55.4% completion percentage. 1708 yds, 244 ypg. 8 tds to 5 picks. Player B: 178-290 61.4% completion 2129 yds 304.3 ypg 15 tds 4 picks Player B is Matthew Stafford, player A is Tom Brady. I think Brady is just not use to having less talent. His normally great o line has struggled more than usual this year, Welker and Hernandez are gone, along with the familiarness of Brandon Lloyd. Gronk just came back, Amendola is injured. I've long maintained my belief that, while Brady is an elite QB, he is just a bit behind Brees, Rodgers, and Manning. Edited by Hurry My Curry, Oct 23 2013, 03:10 AM.

I say 36 is up there, but, I doubt his age has too much to do with the decline. I blame the running backs, wideouts, stupid cocky f*** Belichick for letting Welker go. A bit Brady, but, this year is too out of line with his career to be considered anything but an anomaly. 17 targets to Gronk says it all. Aaron Hernandez killing a guy says it all. If at the end of the year the trend continues, there might be some legitimacy to it. But this year is the exception not the rule. We'll just have to see how his career concludes. He's already a lock for the Hall of Fame. Also Colston was an end of the 7th round pick but he is really good. Very consistent player. Brees has plenty of weapons on offense. An example of him elevating receivers is Robert Meachem. Dude was a good deep threat for the Saints, cashed in with the Chargers, played like s***.
