He's way above Tien to even consider the attack doing anything to him.

I agree with this. Piccolo was the only one capable of doing any significant damage to Nappa with his Makankosappo if he can land it cleanly.

I'm sure it could have done major damage if it had hit, but I don't think it would have killed him. Maybe it would have been slightly easier for the others to fight him though.

Even then, Nappa still tanked it just like he tanked almost everything else. Of course he was still a bit considerate for himself since Tien was hella mad.

In my opinion there is no need for it to be amplified, it will have the same effect no matter what it's power level is.

In terms of how DB has been throughout, "gave him a scare" should mean "I would probably be pretty injured if you actually hit me properly". I don't have Tien's Spirit Tri-Beam doing much to Nappa even if he completely didn't see it coming.
