This is my PL list . I tried to round the numbers as much as possible while still keeping my gaps accurate. Dabura should be closer to Gohan. You have him in almost stomping range of MSSJ Gohan. |

Dabura did think gohan was trash after their fight, and vegeta though he needed to intervene, plus goku also saw gohan was losing. But I guess I can put them closer. |

I still don't understand the reasoning here. It seems like a disregard for the narrative implication of Trunks' debut.
There should be a bigger gap here, considering suppressed Piccolo (post-Kami) was moderately advantaged against this Cell, and Piccolo was only said to rival No.18.
He shouldn't be that strong. He knew he was crap compared to Cell, who Goku had previously admitted he couldn't beat.
The fight showed them completely equal, even with Gohan as the stronger of the two power-wise given he was unharmed by Dabura's surprise attacks and broke the guy's sword like it was nothing. The guy resorted to spitting on him, despite his mission to gather energy. His talk to Babidi was keeping up appearances, especially since he'd just fought Gohan so he'd be more confident in a second round knowing his fighting style. You've got the basics down for the most part, though. I didn't have to fight you about Gotenks being stronger than Goku, or Goku somehow magically suppressing his power to 10% against Fat Boo, or unpredictability not being a reason to have Pure Boo suppressing such extreme power either. |

Gohan said trunks had the same ki as namek goku. I don't know what that could refer to besides strength. A 10.2% gap would be a moderate advantage for weighted piccolo over cell, no? Piccolo did manage to stay on his feet against the cell Jr, while krillin, tien, yamcha and tired goku were all down on their faces. Plus trunks was shocked when goku confirmed piccolo would be of no help against cell. He would not be shocked if piccolo was only at super vegeta level, since he knows what happened there. And trunks had already felt 50% goku and had heard him admit he probably couldn't beat cell. So he would not have been shocked if piccolo was below 50% goku. What about Goku's quote that Dabura was about as strong as cell? If dabura is weaker than mssj gohan, then goku would just be wrong. But maybe he is wrong? Edited by kuartus4, Oct 19 2013, 03:14 AM.

No he doesn't and this seems to be a huge mistake people make. Gohan notes that Trunks has the same type of ki, Super Saiyan Ki that his father had, not that they have the same ki strength. Herms is very specific about this.
This is especially obvious when Goku can hear that Trunks instantly dealt with Freeza and then remark that he wasn't even being serious either. Obviously you'd think Goku would've questioned the notion if Trunks could honestly have done it if he was only around Freeza's level of power, much less if Trunks was suppressed. |

But, you are arguing that gohan was reffering to type of ki. Thing is, the quote says nothing about "type". Super saiyan is just a transformation. It doesn't give you another type of ki. It just increases your ki and makes you yellow. Maybe it gives them yellow ki? Nah. I don't think every ki related quote contains the word "amount" in it, so I don't think Herm's note is relevant. I'm of the opinion that had trunks not been holding back AND goku wasn't bracing his finger, then goodbye finger. Why not good bye frieza at equal power levels? Just curious. Chapter: 331 (DBZ 137), P13.3 Gohan: “It’s fa-father!!! It’s the same ki as father back then!!” Note: Gohan says it’s the ‘same ki’ (onaji ki), rather than the ‘same amount of ki’ (onaji gurai no ki). I bolded and enlarged the important stuff here.
Statement above would beg to differ.
This is the thing, Herms is directly noting the difference between saying "Same ki" and "same amount of ki" and its shown through several statements that regardless of whether or not Freeza powered up, Trunks was overwhelmingly superior. And I'd certainly take the words of a man who has been translating Japanese for well over 10 years right now. |

Chapter: 392 (DBZ 198), P13.1-5 Goku: “Hey… Piccolo! Did you go into the Room of Spirit and Time?” Piccolo: “Indeed.” Goku: “I can tell! You’ve risen to an entirely different level.” Piccolo: “…Why don’t you just be frank with me? I’ve grown stronger, but even so, it won’t do any good against Cell…” Goku: “…Yeah, it won’t do any good.” The Cell kid fight isn't the best indicator since they were all being toyed with.
The statement was broad and can be interpreted a number of ways. What we saw from the fight itself is the biggest indicator of Dabura's power.
Chapter: 390 (DBZ 196), P6.1-2 Context: Goku and Gohan emerge from the Room of Spirit and Time Vegeta (to self): “…What’s with them?!...Is that Super Saiyan…!? No…It has a slightly different atmosphere…They’re being so natural in that state…” Chapter: 391 (DBZ 197), P7.2-7 Context: talking about Goku and Gohan's "natural-feeling" Super Saiyan state Piccolo: “…I think there’s no doubt that they were Super Saiyans…However, they’ve trained so that they can exist in that state at an ordinary, everyday level…” Super Saiyan has a certain feel to it until someone has mastered it. "If you think so" I don't know. That's why there's a question mark at the end. Piccolo already heard goku admit he probably can't beat cell. His power isn't much greater than 50% goku which is all he knows of goku's power. He's connecting the dots. He probably assumes Cell is much stronger than goku going by goku's admission. Sure, the cell jr's were toying around, but then cell told them to go for the kill. We still see piccolo standing after that. And the jr's toying around didn't prevent them from stomping tired goku, tien, krillin, and yamcha into the ground. So why are piccolo vegeta and trunks still standing? Were they being toyed around with less? |

Essentially we have no idea how much they were toying with anybody. Piccolo standing up only argues the point of him being stronger than the humans and a tired Goku. It doesn't put him in the same league as Vegeta and Trunks necessarily. |

Piccolo is not in their league. Well, according to my numbers anyway. He's just strong enough to manage something against the jr's and the others arent, while trunks and vegeta arent in danger as everybody else is. Eventually they would be since the jr's in a sense had numbers on their side. Once they are done with the fodder easily, they would gang up on trunks and vegeta, and it goes downhill for trunks and vegge after that. And I gave an argument to put piccolo at least at 50% goku level, regardless of his performance against the cell Jr. |

I responded to your point with what Piccolo himself said. It can't get better than that, my little buddy. Nobody but Goku and Korin knew Cell was holding back power, right? |
