Should it be legalized or not?

I say yes, it is more safe than alcohol and tobacco, it can heal cancer and be a natural remedy for depression. Or not ? :)

I agree, there is nothing wrong with weed, in fact, I can explain why it is illegal, well, I don't know exactly why, but I can give a brief example.

Marijuana in fact used to be legal, until the government (Selfish bastards they can be sometimes, not all the times) decided that the taxes were ruining the paper industry and what not. They soon decided to make it a level 1 narcotic, which is wrong to me. I don't see any problem with weed.

Definitely. It's much safer than tobacco and alcohol and can be utilized the same way. I'm generally for the legalization of all drugs, though, not just marijuana. But, marijuana legalization is definitely a step that's long overdue. I don't believe in policing what people put in their bodies.

I think that Marijuana being legal makes more sense than alcohol and tobacco being legal.

I'm no expert, and I didn't look this statistic up, but I'm fairly certain that as far as manslaughter and car accidents etc goes, most deaths every year are alcohol related.

When was the last time someone got high they just died? Or killed someone randomly for no reason? That doesn't happen.

The only instances of that are usually laced batches of marijuana, or the odd random allergy. If for no other reason, government regulation of marijuana would make it safer, since it would be under law for distribution and processing.

Nobody has ever died from personally consuming marijuana. It is being reckless and driving or hotboxing and getting extremely blazed while driving that is dangerous. And even then, marijuana heightens your senses and so the driver would likely drive slower and try to be more careful. Generally speaking, of course.

Marijuana is technically considered a mild psychedelic, not strong enough to make you hallucinate like psilocybin, mescaline, lysergic acid diethylamide or dimethyltryptamine, but, enough to make you more alert. Whereas alcohol is a CNS depressant that affects balance, function and mental acuity.

Millions of lives have been destroyed by alcohol, whether due to poisoned batches of alcohol that the U.S. government put out during prohibition; or the kids of two parents who were killed by a drunk driver. Alcohol poisoning. I nearly had a friend die in college because he drank too much too fast. He barely lived and was pissing blood. Another friend of mine in college said "bye Sam", left the dorm room, got ridiculously drunk and tried killing himself. I spent all night with him as he was sobbing and completely mentally broken down. And the obvious cases of someone who wrecks their car and kills themself by driving drunk.

But the answer to this isn't prohibition. The US tried that and it didn't work. People still got drunk from bootleggers, and some people were accidentally poisoned this way. Just like Daemon said with laced marijuana, during prohibition there was "laced" alcohol. All prohibition of a drug does is allows the money for the drug to go to someone else. If we have two legal substances, one that inflicts cancer on millions when smoked (e-cigs and vaporizers essentially remove this concern but are quite expensive) and the other that causes ridiculous amounts of deaths and destroys so many lives, why is marijuana illegal?

It is relatively benign. If alcohol is legal, cocaine should be legal. You may think I'm crazy, but, we already have one drug that tears lives apart that is legal. And we make a lot of money off of it. Instead of giving the money to the Mexican cartels and terrorist organizations, why not find a way to process and legalize it over time? I've never used cocaine, but, it's a good example. It kills people too, yes, and destroys lives, yes, but, so does alcohol.

The fact that alcohol is legal and is much more dangerous of a drug than people realize makes the prohibition of other drugs like cocaine and the entire psychedelic family (partially which I listed above with all those big words, lol) completely hypocritical. We are made delusional by the advertisement and cultural status of alcohol. The hypocrisy of alcohol being legal is founded in culture, not rationality or science, because the science and logic shows that alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs.

Heroin aka diacetylmorphine? Use it in medicine in dying people like large parts of Europe does. If made in a lab by a government, it would be much cleaner and useful for extreme pain or cancer patients. This applies to all drugs. Methamphetamine is also a medicinal substance. I sound crazier and crazier, but, it's true. We already make prescription meth, it's called Desoxyn. It's a meth pill for ADHD.

While the enantiomerical composition of Desoxyn vs. street meth is different, we very literally prescribe people meth. I am only one person. We would have to overhaul a lot of s*** to let people use most illegal drugs in a recreational sense at their own leisure. They would have to be expensive, and there would need to be a way to educate people on the damages and risks of illegal drugs.

You know "the faces of meth"? Why are they like that? It must be the meth. Sort of, but, not really. Street meth has many impurities which causes great damage to the body. Just like vaporizing tobacco is relatively harmless, because it extracts the nicotine without all the carcinogens, a purer meth not made in a bathtub in a trailer or by non-scientists hidden out in a very dirty lab in Mexico would not cause these "faces of meth", just as Desoxyn does not do that to people.

The impurity of these drugs is due to the fact that they are manufactured without any sort of regulation. The lacing of marijuana by a street dealer is caused by no regulation. These people will do these substances regardless, and the money goes to "the bad guy". However, if legalized, we could make huge profits, reduce risk, damage to the body, and impurities.

That's part of why I thought Silk Road was so genius. The market/feedback based system naturally created competition that is generally not found on the streets, resulting in lower prices, much higher purities and eliminated the risk of having something laced. Silk Road was the regulation I was talking about, and it worked. How is overdosing and dying on alcohol okay but from anything else it's not? Psychedelics, like "shrooms" and "acid" have never killed anyone. The only mental illness they can cause is a mental illness that would have developed anyway, they just bring it on prematurely, and this happens to very few.

Nobody goes crazy and dies. And very few people would ever want to drive a car on them. Ecstasy or MDMA doesn't directly kill anyone ever, has been shown to help people greatly with PTSD and other anxiety disorders, and is the only substance on Earth that has been shown to give psychopaths emotions in therapy sessions. Cluster headaches, a rare and extremely painful condition, has been shown to be cured by LSD or psilocybin.

Once you look past the egotistical veil of a governmentally imposed culture, you see its bulls*** and hypocrisy. We preach freedom, yet, we clearly are not completely free. Freedom is defined by the government and its laws. True freedom does not exist, in the context that we think of it in. I'm not preaching anarchy, just making a point.

After some thought, I think the best way for my idea to work is to eliminate all advertising of every drug. A big reason that people drink and smoke is because our culture makes them extremely appealing. If alcohol was treated scientifically, we could estimate dosages and there would be a lot less death from overdrinking caused by ego, peer pressure, etc.

Educate people on their risks and eliminate advertising and you solve all the drug prohibition problems, reduce risk of death greatly and utilize some of these illegal drugs for their medicinal qualities, as well as the economic boost and the end of the war on drugs. Just like you don't see bootleggers anymore, there would be no meth labs or pot farms.

Anyway, I'm done writing this book. I bet this post is extremely f***ing long, lol. I doubt I will get anyone to agree with me on this, but, I hope I've made myself clear enough that you understand the point I'm trying to make. I went off topic a bit purposely to give other examples to support the legalization of marijuana.

I agree, the people of America has been brainwashed by the government, which causes them to think weed is bad.

No legalization imo. It increases cancer chances, not decreases. For examples it increases genital cancer chances by 70%, honestly. I'm not a big fan of alcohol or cigarettes either, but weed is a no on my end.

Cite your sources, those seem like propaganda against drugs.

Marijuana has infinite more benefits than it does negatives. 70%? That's ridiculous. Everyone would end up having genital cancer.

Since when was 70% = 100%

Also, you should also cite your claims.

This is a study that shows what is claimed. Although, how accurate it is, can be speculated.

They also probably drank milk, right?

Also, this is not a study. They merely asked.

100 men out of 250 men with cancer drive Coupes.

Coupes may cause testicular cancer.

The benefits are circumstantial. Weed doesn't improve anything about your condition if there's nothing wrong with you in the first place.

I'm fine with marijuana as a medicine, but not for recreational purposes.
