Something else you should think about is snacking frequently instead of full meals. The reason people feel sleepy after a large meal is because blood gets diverted to the vessels around the stomach so digestion can commence. This is the true cause of why people get sleepy after eating Thanksgiving dinner, and not the mythical levels of tryptophin in turkey. Snacking will keep your energy levels from dropping, but won't be enough to give you that "2:00 slump" during the day. |

I agree with snacking too actually (just don't get caught eating in class unless yer teacher's cool with it). I'd recommend some sort of trail mix with nuts and raisins and stuff. |

I like this response. The responses in here have been awesome. The best ways to keep awake from what everyone as replied are: -Get plenty of sleep -Stay in the front of the class so your forced to pay attention -Eat healthy -Drink plenty of water -Exercise when possible -Try to stay interested in the class by asking questions or participating Edited by Pookie, Sep 22 2013, 12:15 AM.

I agree with Crash. In a 6 hour school day, I generally drink around a litre of water. It just helps you to stay focused and alert. |
