So I pride myself in being a Pacifist, the other day during my PE class. One of my buds fell over and sprained his ankle and needed a hand to get up. So I offer my hand to help him, except right when i almost helped him up, this random dude comes up and pushes me across the chest and tells me to "get the f*** out of the way." I don't know what happened but something clicked in my brain and I charged up to the guy and pushed him to the ground and told him "you do that again and you will have your a*** handed to you on a silver platter." he apologised but I felt horrible inside since I laid my hands on someone. So what i wanted to know is could a lack of sleep or lack of good amount of sleep caused me to lose my composure? |

A lot of things could factor into it, but yeah, for myself and a lot of people I know, lack of sleep makes us irritable. |

It could have been just your hormones. Since you said PE class, I figure you are in high school. It's not easy to turn the other cheek when you get pushed or hit. I wouldn't think too much of it though. You were probably just trying to make sure your friend was okay, therefore, when you were pushed, you reacted in how most people would have. |

Yeah, I think the lack of sleep could be a big part of it. And like Buuberries said, a lot of other things could be factors as well. Once it all adds up and can fill up no longer, you burst; he just happened to be the one that had to see you lose your composure. Feeling bad is normal once you cool down, but do understand that he's in the wrong as well, so I wouldn't worry about it too much, especially if he's not. Hopefully he is as much as you though, seeing how he kinda started all of this. |

Composure is never a certainty and is highly affected by the mental state your in. If you're lacking sleep for example, chances are that such a thing might not even register until you already regret it. I'd also say that staying hydrated is pretty important too. But yeah, lack of sleep does tend to make people irritable. |

Lmao silver platter. That's kinda like a backhanded compliment....like his a** belongs on a silver platter. Lack of sleep can get you stressed more easily for sure. So can drinking alcohol, or maybe just already being stressed about anything else. Anyway don't feel too bad at least that guy will probably not go around pushing people like that as much. |

It’s like, you’ve got the whole world and Earth and all its holy creations, right? And God is like, Hmm, lookit, my whole world in all its holy ways, and he’s like, Oh-my-me-oh-sh**, I left weed in here. Yeah right, I left weed in here. I don't think our composure is directly related to our sleep. There have been days were I went with little to no sleep and I had my composure intact. Maybe it's because I don't get angry a lot. And I can't believe that guy apologized. If I did that to someone in my school, that would initiate a fight immediately. |

Sometimes it's good to lose your composure. It gets boring being in the same mode every day. |

You hold too much in for a long time, then maybe more than a push and a threaten will occur down the road. I agree with that too. |
