I have them about 75% of the present androids. I think I'd give it to future #18.

To think that he’s able to fight on par with that outrageous android…!” I think what's going on here is that Trunks didn't sense that Vegeta was strong enough to fight evenly with the future androids, but then he sees him fighting on par with #18, so he thinks he was wrong. I think that he was actually right. |

Chapter: 353 (DBZ 159), P12.3-6 Trunks: “Am-amazing! I hadn’t realized that father was this strong…! To think that he’s able to fight on par with that outrageous android…!” Trunks had only seen the second round of that fight where No.18 was on the defensive and Vegeta did appear to be fighting evenly with her. Though right after he made that comment, Piccolo shut him down (“Vegeta’s going to be killed…”). It's important to note that this was before Trunks fought and realized that the androids in the present time were stronger than the ones in his. Chapter: 355 (DBZ 161), P8.5 Trunks: “They’re also somewhat different from the androids I know…They weren’t as outrageously strong as this…Even I could fight them fairly well…” Chapter: 356 (DBZ 162), P10.3 Context: more comparing the future androids to the present ones Trunks: “Wh-why has history changed this much?...The an-androids’ power wasn’t on so much of a different level…And there were only 2 of them…” To Trunks - at the time - Vegeta was on par with the No.18 that he knew and had fought against in his timeline. With that, it's safe to say that the future androids were only slightly ahead of the android saga Super Saiyans at most, giving us a maximum for Piccolo's strength. Currently, Piccolo sits in between Super Saiyan Trunks (from his debut) and Super Saiyan Trunks (three years later). Furthermore, the range for this gap would likely be smaller than one would think, and we'll explain why. In Trunks's timeline, Gohan fought the androids at least twice that we know of. When he fought them the second time, No.17 revealed that he'd used less than half of his power against him. Chapter: Trunks: the Story, P9.4-5, P10.1 Context: It’s worth noting that Trunks doesn’t hear this conversation and is unconscious, so he doesn’t sense the fight. No.17: “Anyway, it’s been a long time, Son Gohan…It’s been about 1 year, right? I’m surprised you managed to survive after taking a beating like that…” Future Gohan: “This time I’ve trained so that I wouldn’t get beaten. It’s your turn to lose now!” No.17: “Our turn? …Heh heh heh… Sorry to disappoint you…but I didn’t even use half my power when we fought before.” This would be similar to King Piccolo's fight with a young Goku many years earlier. Chapter: 143, P12.3 Context: Piccolo continues to outclass Goku Piccolo: “Hohhohhoh…You have no chance of winning, no matter how you struggle, and you can’t run away either. It seems all that’s left for you is the road to death. I’m still not even putting out half of my power. Too bad for you…so then, what will you do?” It was stated in an interview with Toriyama that he was very particular with what he made his characters say[1], so by this, we can assume if he wanted to make a bigger impact, he could've had No.17 say he'd been using a third of his power or a quarter instead of less than half, which would leave us with a safe assumption of about 40% - below half, but more than a third (about 33%). Gohan was confident in facing both androids again before learning of this, but was still killed, and it's safe to say he was done away with without much trouble by the androids considering he was stated to be just about as strong as Trunks (from his debut), who likewise admitted he was absolutely no match for the duo. Chapter: Trunks: the Story, P14.4, P15.1-2 Trunks: “…I think I’m strong enough to beat the Androids now. We don’t have to go study them in the past!” Future Bulma: “You’re too naïve. It’s true that you’ve gotten astoundingly strong, but have you forgotten how Gohan was killed 3 years ago? I don’t think you’re that amazingly different than Gohan back then…” Chapter: Trunks: the Story, P17.3 Context: Trunks is in hospital after losing to the androids. Trunks: “You were right… The gap between me and the androids was still huge…I think I’m lucky to have returned alive…” Chapter: 348 (DBZ 154), P6.1 Context: after Piccolo says Super Saiyan Vegeta might beat No.17 and No.18 Trunks: “I-I was able to become a Super Saiyan too…B-but, I was absolutely no match for them…They’re stupendously strong…” Gohan and Trunks might as well have been the same power, and both were humiliated by the future androids. Three years later, the Super Saiyans were fighting on par with what Trunks thought were his androids. Give this to Vegeta in my opinion I believe he can beat the future androids if Trunks could put up a very good fight against them on 1v1 I don't see why Vegeta couldn't win this |
