And there's a program named Joytokey which lets you bind keyboard controls to your controller even when the game has no native compatibility for controllers. It was most useful for the old Tomb Raider games that I got on Steam.

I think I've begun to enjoy Fifa a little bit. I used to hate it, but now I'm like okay with it. Anyone plays Fifa here?

Have anyone played LittleBigPlanet 3? My friend has it and it looks a ton of fun.

Superior = easier = easy = boring as far as I'm concerned.
yup. easy, right? okay.

When it comes to aiming yeah, like I said it feels more like a point and click game to me it's like oh there's someone's head lets click on it rather than swing the gun around and time it right.
Clearly, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Consoles use aim assist, which makes shooting games, easier.

I still don't see why people consider PC games to be more difficult, games such as? MMO's aren't hard, RTS games can be but just because there's less of them on console doesn't make it PC exclusive difficulty.

MMOs don't really work on consoles because of the amount of keys you need, for a decent MMO that is and a traditional one, it requires a lot of rethinking, works better on PC.

They used to put RTS games on consoles, it didn't really work, same with Sim City, these needed a keyboard and mouse to effectively play them, as consoles aren't really designed for this type of game, common sense on this one. Good luck playing Starcraft 2 on a console, you'll be there for a while. The control scheme just doesn't work.

Where are these supposedly difficult games only genius PC players can play?

Where are the hard games console players get? The difficulty is down to the person, but the PC out performs on almost every front, there are some games better suited for a controller, like Street Fighter, or others that work better with additional input methods, such as a Flight Sim, yet the PC supports all these control methods.

There are a lot of dumbed down games on console but most of them are on PC too so...yeah. Lot of those are suitable for kids too so why should they be hard.

Because more people can release things on PC, PC games aren't harder because of the platform, clearly you haven't been thinking through your points, but shooting games on a PC require far more accuracy and precision than on a console. It requires more skill on a PC, not less.

Ever played Quake Online? I suggest you give it a go, it's free.

Holy s***, I cannot figure out this Battle Rifle. I unload a whole clip into someone and they live to beat my a***, but they can end me in 3-4 shots. I do not get it. What am I f***ing doing wrong here? I want the DMR, not its weak little cousin.

Wow, f*** this. Absolute trash. I don't even care that I went positive that game; it was bull. Every time I'm down to low health, I get sniped from across the map, and it never fails. Aiming down the sights is not supposed to be a Halo thing and I realize that now. Every time I try to run from a two-on-one situation, I get sniped from across the map, or my guy becomes an out of shape loser that needs to catch his breath for ten minutes. What a pile. I want to love this game but this crap needs to be fixed.

EDIT: Played Breakout. It's on a shnazzy Tron-style map, which is pretty awesome. You only get 1 life per round, and it's 8 rounds. My team won each round last game, we'll see how this one goes. But it's nice when you have a team that doesn't munk around.

The Temple of Elemental Evil is an extremely difficult PC game. In Red Orchestra you will die every ten seconds if you are not a pro. The Civilisation games on any difficulty above easiest require experience of the game to beat them. Half Life 2 was quite hard. Game Developer Tycoon is hard. The Ultima and the Might and Magic games are impossible without guides.

I could go on and on so stop prejudging things when you don't know anything about them.

And there are no hard games on console at all.

None of those are hard just because they're on PC so it'd be nice if people would stop the whole higher intelligence thing.

Which like I said before I always turn off.

Yeah and like every other type of game is on console or gets ported to it anyway.

This is my problem people act like PC games are all harder and that it makes PC gamers more intelligent people just because of the platform when it's obviously not true.

youve just pretty much said how it's difficult for you to use wasd for movement because you feel that it's easier to make mistakes. yeah there's room for error but honestly if you play enough then it's not a problem at all.

so dont give me that "it's more satisfying when it takes skill to pull off" bs when you've just been talking about how difficult you think it is to use keyboard and mouse for the past few posts.

Again play a game like Destiny or Loadout and try jumping in circles while aiming in one direction, if you're using WASD you have to press each key multiple times whereas with a stick you do one motion all while aiming and pressing other buttons for grenades and whatever, like that's more efficient than two fingers for analogs then two for back buttons.

I never said it was difficult to use a mouse at all...exactly the opposite it's way too easy. And it's not difficult to use a keyboard it's less efficient you have to move your fingers all over the place to use functions.

I don't see how being able to use controllers on a PC is relevant to discussing which is a better control method. If you have to use a controller for a PC game doesn't that defeat the whole point?

I don't think anyone here has said that. Almost everyone uses the "PC Gaming Master Race" thing ironically/jokingly. We just think our method of gaming is superior (it is, by the way), we aren't saying that we as people are superior to console gamers. That's absurd.

Anyway I just beat Resident Evil Revelations in just under eight hours. 7:50:44 to be precise. I don't know how good a time that is. I imagine the world record is probably something insane like 2:30:00 or something.

I take a long time to complete most games because I'm the kind of person who checks all over the place making sure I collect everything :P Admittedly it does sometimes lessen the fun of a game, I just don't feel right progressing until I know I've done all I can.

I'm like that with rpgs but not action games unless I know there are secrets. Revelations has 30 secret hand prints that you need to find but all they get you is a special hand gun that you can use in a new game. Complete waste of time.

I never said PC gamers are more intelligent, you are just adding that to the debate for reasons only known to you.

In fact no one has except you :o_O:

True, though I can see where he's coming from. I get massively frustrated by the PC gamers that have superiority issues and don't seem to get the idea we don't care that PC is better because frankly we just aren't elitists obsessed with amount of on screen pixels, I still play PS1 games so I really couldn't care less how things look because my favourite games are from an era where games were only about 360p, if not less.

The main reason people get so wound up about it is because the majority of vocal PC gamers are also the elitists, though the vocal population of PC gamers is actually a minority among the gamers as a whole. I personally play on the PC sometimes too but I never see the need to tell people why it's better than anything else.

ANNNYYWAAYYYY.

I haven't in this topic for a while, but I thought I'd mention I decided to go back to Skyrim recently, and I'm surprised how truly different it feels playing either mage, warrior or thief styles.

Oh yeah, well you know what? If you play a PS1 game on an emulator, you can render (internally) it at whatever resolution you like. So yeah, basically I'm better than you.

I'm kidding, it's totally cool to not care about that kind of thing.

I've never really cared for emulators either, I don't get why people would care that much for them besides to access games that they don't have any other machine to play on. The original Tony Hawk games still look the same even on a top-end PC.

I did see the small text by the way, but yeah, don't understand the elitism, why do people boast about inanimate metal and wiring?

People (myself included) like showing off their gaming PCs for the same reason car enthusiasts like showing their customized/restored cars.

It's basically the only game I play. I pretty much stick to Ultimate Team, however.
