Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

My collection feels so small now I used to have so many but traded tons in in recent years.

Digital library just can't beat an epic collection with limited edition boxes and such.

Is there any way to make a GameCube game or N64 game not look like crap on a modern TV? Played Mario Kart Double Dash the other day and the picture quality was astoundingly bad, had to put the brightness to 0 just to barely see the track. N64 was worse but I guess that's more or less to be expected.

Kind of a bummer was wanting to play Wind Waker again, not if it looks like digital vomit.

You can play with the resolution settings from the in-game menu's, but really you're better off having an old tv for old games. I have one that is only used for my old games, and it comes up looking much better than on a HD TV. Playing game cube games on the Wii makes things look a little smoother on a new TV, and with the virtual console you can get most N64 games downloaded to the Wii, and they come up looking good. But if you're like me and enjoy playing games on the gaming systems they came out on, you're better off picking up an old TV to play it on!

Just for the heck of it. Here's a collection of games. The bottom ones are mine and the top ones are my friend's games.

Shiz, you have the GCN version of TP? Lucky guy, I would kill to get that version of the game.

Not sure if my collection can mach up to yours Emm but it's okay on it's own. Missing my N64 with it's games due to it being it borrowed.

GCN, PS2, PS3, Wii/U Games

If you use an RGB scart cable then that gives you the best picture quality for old consoles. Then it's S-video, then it's composite. Of course some consoles need to be modded before they can use any of these. My megadrive doesn't have s-video but fortunately it has the superior scart port. I plan on getting a framemeister for christmas so I can upscale my megadrive to HD and have it looking nice and crisp. For even though I am using scart, some games can still have lines where the pixels are too stretched and there is some flickering now and again.

This is the quality I had when I played it today. In the Nintendo Wii with an HDMI cable. Best way to play it graphically.

Since we're doing this, I thought I'd show some of my games off. I actually have a large box full of PS1 and 2 games under my bed but I thought I'd save that for another day. Also I forgot to show another game I have. It's a compilation cart of four games including Gunstar Heroes, Altered Beast, Alex Kidd and Flicky.

Altered Beast! I love that game could never complete it.

Might invest in one of those things that has all the old games like that on it.

You mean the cartridge? Obviously need the actual Megadrive to play it on.

Altered Beast is actually really easy and very short. I'm sure if you played it now then you'd beat it in roughly 20 minutes. It's a s***ty game though. The only game on that compilation worth playing is Gunstar Heroes. That's a fantastic run and gun game similar to Metal Slug.

No it's like a more modern machine...

Sort of the same as those things you can play Pacman on, plug in to the TV at the scart area usually get a few games on them.

Yeah I think I played AB like 6 years ago and couldn't be bothered finishing it, the nostalgia made it so fun though you get to transform! In to things! And buff up like the Hulk!
Excellent!

Many years ago I traded my Megadrive for an N64...thinking back, had a lot more fun on the Megadrive.

I know what you mean now. They sell them everywhere. Not quite the same experience. I don't know why but they feel like an imitation. Can you even put original cartridges in them? I actually really like the feel of putting a cartridge into a machine. Even the fact that I often need to do it multiple times before it will work is enjoyable to me.

Yeah cartridges are great so much better than a disc that's just going to look like a scratchpost eventually all my Nintendo 64 games work fine still and I distinctly remember a few falling down the stairs out of a box.

Really tiresome seeing people undermining the latest consoles "hurr durr they'll have to lower the graphics and run it at 30FPS to play the game"
It'd be nice if people done some research on how decent the consoles actually are, even the X1 is more powerful than my PC which easily runs DayZ at very high settings when they haven't even optimized the game yet.

You don't need a forty million core PC with 900 gigs of RAM and a supercomputer worthy graphics card to run games at very high settings no game uses all that much power, it'd be nice if people would stop trying to act so smart while being ignorant and annoying.

Only the inferior 3DS version. Not interested in that at all.

It isn't really inferior; the two games play identically. The Wii U might have some sort of story/campaign mode, but that doesn't detract from the 3DS version at all.

It's a good game. Good graphics and it plays very well.
