Wasn't the Last of Us only released like last September? It seems pretty early to do something like that.

June 14th or 15th I believe, it was a HUGE hit gaining pretty much EVERY award it could possibly get lol. It's no wonder they'd want to put up a SLIGHTLY improved version on the PS4 to add sales.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Well you can still buy PSP games just not download them on the Vita I think.

Yeah I'm looking forward to TLOU, hopefully the trophies will be on their own not synced with the PS3 version because I might 100% it.

Also looking forward to the DLC which I was thinking of buying anyway.

I know it's just that it seems really redundant to release a game that isn't even a year old. Take other HD remasters like FFX HD or Wind Waker HD. They aged considerably and were around for 2 generations before.

That's the threshold IMO to do a remaster/remake. Doing something like that to a game that's only been around for a year is a cheap way to make money and requires little effort in making the game.

My 2 cents.

Izanagi!

Is TLOU available for PS4 players right now? If it isn't, then this release makes perfect sense; pull in all the people jumping ship from Xbox and people who didn't have a PS3.

Damn I came here to say that, seems like a lot of people were disappointed that they never got to play it and everyone that loves it enough can play it in better quality.

That said I think I'll wait until the price goes down a little and also after confirming it's not some buggy mess.

I suppose you have a point.

Still, it just seems redundant to release something one year after it's released. It seems somewhat lazy seeing as the game is being charaged for a similar price to a game that was made from scratch even though their was much less effort put into it.

2 Generations for a remake/remaster sounds much better. People who didn't have the console to play the game or weren't a gamer for when the game came out will have a chance to play that game.

And with the lack of backwards compatibility it makes sense to re release games on newer machines. It makes them more money than simply adding an emulator to a console. Plus I'm sure it won't be too long before most people's PS1's and PS2's stop working. They didn't seem to make them as durable as the older machines. My Sega lasted me over 10 years. I'd been through two PS2's, an N64 and a PS1 in that time.

Well TLOU on PS3 is still like £40+ if it's not pre-owned so they couldn't really charge less for a big graphic update plus a £15 or so DLC.

A lot more work goes in to it than it seems, not as much as making the game from scratch but it still adds a lot.

I'm just glad they aren't going full greed mode and making it for the X1 too, if there is a sequel then this revamp will reduce the need for it to come on to Xbox for money so at least they won't sellout and exclusive.

Speaking of exclusive I look forward to a new gen exclusive from Rockstar any GTA, Saints Row, Red Dead kinda game will be epic.
I don't much care for Saints Row but if 5 is new gen exclusive it should be filled with lots of silly and fun things to do.

My PS2 still works fine even after 10+ years.

I don't think any system I ever owned has stopped working properly.

Same here so does my N64 not got anything older.

Fired up the PS2 a few months ago, and I thought my computer was really noisy...
Amazing how it even worked with all that dust on it probably a whole civilization of dust mites in it learning to make the wheel.

With all the recent talk of SSB I'm thinking of getting Melee, must have put like 800 hours in to that game.
Holy crap what if I still have a save file...quite sure that I don't but just maybe...

Are you serious just looked on Amazon, £399.99 for a new one.
Holy crap a Gamecube controller is just under £60 for a new one too that's as much as a new gen controller...

Perhaps it would be wise to buy crap like this and just keep it for 10 years make thousands...

I managed to find a copy of Melee via Kijiji this past January.

Nowadays, finding a copy of Melee is a pain in the rear end.

Certain consoles are notorious for it; say what you want about Sega, I've never had a console of theirs fail going back to my Master System. The one system I had issues with was the PSX/PS1; the launch model was notorious for over heating, as well as only working if it was slanted (so you would put a book under it) or even upside down. I've had three of them over the years. I never had a 360, but I knew a ton of people who ended up with the Red Ring of Death, also. Nintendo consoles are mostly solid, the original NES is the only one that has given me problems, but that is more due to it constantly needing to be cleaned in order to play the carts properly.

I reckon people are going to have problems with the PS4 and over heating mine gets quite hot after being on a few hours, anyone that sits playing a game for a whole day is going to burn theirs out for sure.

I guess people should be sensible and take breaks both for themselves and the console but obviously some won't.

Kind of low on money right now but I think I could afford a used Melee they start at like £30...dunno if I should though...

Good lord a new Wind Waker for Gamecube is £800 the special edition with the bonus disc...I have that...ohohohohoho.........
Such a good game though selling it would be difficult.
