Battlefield V trailer dropped:

Oh...oh my...

That was utterly dreadful.

Seriously what? I had no idea what was going on, why does it seem like someone put the colour saturation to 1000%?
And that prosthetic arm? I had to pause it and look at it, because the crappy aesthetics made me think maybe it's actually futuristic or an alternate reality, not WW2.
What a ridiculously over the top scene as well, I bet no battle in WW2 was even remotely like that.

How do you go from the amazing BF1 trailer to this nonsense?

Unless the colours are bugged it's obvious they've seen how popular Fortnite and maybe Overwatch are and decided gamers like colour. Which is true.
But not in WW2 where everything is horrific.

Just...wow. Battlefield 1 really bored me but the trailer got me super hyped, I have no interest in this at all, first time since Hardline a Battlefield game has got a universal "meh" from me.
Maybe later trailers and gameplay footage will do it a bit of justice but good God that was lame.
I hope you're not basing your purchase of this game on the trailer. It's a first trailer and game is still in development. Honestly I think it's fine that they add a little light to the game, they are usually so depressing.

Over the top for a war? You truly have no idea how war works, apparently. Did you even play Battlefield 1? There were loads of these missions in it.

Given that it's all we have to judge the game on right now and it's a pretty bad showcase of everything besides the graphics they can use in cinematics, yeah. I won't be considering pre-ordering unless it looks better.
The game is out this year so it can't be in that unfinished a state.

No Battlefield fan has been asking for them to make WW2 a colourful adventure.

As for how war works the way they're all just mindlessly running around seems more Call of Duty than actual war. Seems more like a nonsense Battle Royale mode than it does a war where people fought tactically.
And for all the planes to just suddenly be crashing around them, what battle is that exactly?

I played all of BF1's campaign missions and none of them were that intense, the intense missions usually stuck to their guns as well. If it was a tank mission you'd be fighting mostly tanks, not every type of unit in existence.

In any event, war is hell and this looks more true to what combat was back in WWII anyway. Every Battlefield game so far has been dumbing down warfare. I'm actually super excited for this game.

I almost have a complete living Pokedex. I'm only missing 3 Pokemon. 1 is Spiritomb which, much to my dismay, I must have beaten without capturing on my Alpha Sapphire, so I need to play through that again. The other 2 I need to get from an Ultra Moon play through, which I don't own, so will need to buy at some point. I'm hoping to get it all done before the next Gen so I can have a complete collection for at least a little while.

I took quite a long break from playing any kind of basketball games while I tried to enjoy the NBA a bit more. In that time, I also took an interest in learning how basketball is actually played and observing at the very least how defensive adjustments are made and such.

Heading back into 2K atleast, it's amazing how much that translates over. Even just basic things like knowing how to switch on pick and rolls have such a huge impact on keeping your opponent's score low. Helps to also be able to play free safety in passing lanes. So much of the game opens up, hopefully I can get 2K19 in time to get playing Pro-AM.

Yeah, being a smart basketball fan does wonders when playing 2K. It's the same with general knowledge of the league too, knowing who you can leave open for 3s etc (although 2K doesn't always adhere to real life %s).

So it seems like BFV is going to have full customization and allow you to play as a woman whenever you want.

Oh dear.

I don't care personally but wow, did they not know how upset that would make people? 99% of the complaints I've seen are about how it's an "SJW game" now because having a woman in it makes it SJW, females can literally only be social justice warriors.

And there's a good portion of them talking about the game being political.

Correct me if I'm wrong but...World War 2 was kind of political? I'm not crazy right?

Just when Battlefield had a good chance of toppling CoD at last, they go ruin their chances like that. Gamers on the whole clearly aren't there yet my dudes.

Yeah, the war was incredibly political, but there were actually no women fighting on the front-lines, that's where the SJW comment comes from. The game is trying to appeal to the masses and not upset anyone, but frankly do you think women would be super duper mad if they weren't featured in a war-focused game, especially a war game about WW1 and WW2?

Today Dark Souls Remastered came out. Didn't pre-order it, so hopefully there'll be one I can pick up at Walmart or Game Stop.

This is the same game series that has a virtual space marine in WW1 as a god-honest campaign mission meant to be taken seriously. Honestly who gives a s*** if there are women in this game, if that turns them off because they want "realism" in a battlefield game, go play Arma. An actual realistic shooter.

Edit: And let's be real, these dudes all their complaining ain't going to be hopping to Call of Duty or Fortnite, too many womens for their tastes. They'll most likely stick with Battlefield, and then not even pay attention to shooting womenz because like most FPS, you're either 300-400 meters out trying to shoot them while they shoot at you in a panic moment. Or you're so close that you almost instinctively start spraying mindlessly. Or you're so far out that they're a literal blimp in your scope.

There were actually many women in both wars, enough that you could have them in a game like this without it being totally outlandish.

But mind you, all the 12 year old historians probably have it right, they sure moan enough.

Not sure about a woman with a prosthetic hand though, though I bet there's some crazy a** story involving one that they probably based her off of.
Obviously neither war had 50/50 men and women but there were definitely some women on the frontlines, particularly from Russia.

Yeah I like whenever Battlefield does something wrong suddenly it's a 100% historically accurate game even though it's at best semi-realistic and always has been.
I like a touch of realism but only really in regards to gameplay.

Dude you're so wrong, how the hell are we going to play the game without getting distracted, knowing that under that thick olive green coat there might be boobs there? It's a bulls*** advantage, now I'll have to constantly stare at the character model to try see a bit of ankle.
Not fair.

Still loving God of War, the Leviathan Axe just doesn't get boring. I do hope I get a new weapon soon though the variety is getting a bit slim. The only real pacing issue I've had so far.

Walmart was all out of DS Remastered, I feel like they only had two or three copies at most. Kind of dumb tbh. But I got one at GameStop so it's all good, I hate going there but at least I got the game. Downloading the update file right now. Looking forward to playing, I love DS3 and Bloodborne. So there shouldn't be any reason for me not to like this game.

I played the original and enjoyed the first half of the game but it got too dark and dingy for my liking.

Looked at my calendar earlier and realised I might have to wait an extra day for Sega Mega Drive Classics which I've been looking forward to for over a month now. I'm literally counting the days. Hopefully Amazon Prime delivers it the same day it's dispatched.

The bosses so far are easy, but man is it hard to switch from DS3 to this game. The reaction time for things are slower and the roll is also a lot slower. Just glad most of the controls are the same.

Right now all I want to know is, where the heck is the nearest bonfire?!

There are always gonna be exceptions, but the rate is definitely 99 to 1 in favor of men. I'm not saying no women served in any army in World War II, but in terms of allies there were approximately 0 women fighting with the men. There were women's divisions though; nurses, truck drivers, engineers, etc.

I think it's pretty silly to get your panties in a bunch over seeing women (and black people actually) on the frontlines in a video game about World War II (or I), it matters very little.
