The next GTA will almost certainly be set in Vice City or, in my own belief, a new city entirely. VC has gone the longest without being represented and they could do some interesting stuff with it in the modern setting, VC was 80's right? I'd like to see somewhere like D.C perhaps, so they can lean even more into the political satire we're basically being gifted with in modern America, but I could also maybe see somewhere in Texas or a less metropolitan city and indulge in something a bit more rural. Honestly I would love a GTA game set in London though. A very large core of the player base is from the UK, myself included, and as much as we love the America satire there is so much untapped potential in Britain. Especially if they keep the multiple character approach, we could range from the organised corporate criminals to the small time criminals on the estates. I'd also love a British radio, quite frankly nothing would stir up controversy quite like participating in an acid attack on a Theresa May lookalike with a Grime track for backing music. |

I felt like GTA 4's Liberty City didn't really feel like New York. They should do it again and make it larger. |

I think it's very difficult to make a good open world that feels like New York and is also good. It may well be the most featured city in all of gaming and honestly the most accurate depictions are also incredibly boring, dull, and lacking in character. Places like Loe Angles or Miami are much easier to capture in a good way because there's charm, vibrancy, and very distinct districts, whereas New York is a concrete jungle with very few areas of unique interest, and the character of the city has always been quite dark and grim and hard to enjoy. Best media example of this is the movie Se7en, the city is almost a character of its own but it has the feeling of being suffocating, repressive and gloomy, which doesn't really fit the mold of GTA and doesn't really work for modern GTA in particular because there's not much to poke fun at or exaggerate there except for the size of the skyscrapers and the aggresive New York attitude, and Spider Man has been doing that since the 90's in gaming. |

Funny but since video games apparently cause violence again this would certainly be a bad thing. They're already trying to take porn away from us NOT THE VIDEO GAMES. If I can't watch my BDSM gangbangs I need vidya gaems! Still I don't think Britain could work, it's too different. A GTA spiritual successor would work, something completely designed around Britain but the core of the gameplay probably wouldn't be as fun, since it wouldn't make sense to be roving around with miniguns, rocket launchers and fighting the army. Good satire needs to mirror the thing it's mocking to work. I think if Rockstar/Take Two did it properly then most people would just complain that it's "not GTA", so it would work better if it wasn't something that was GTA. A full remake of The Getaway would be f***ing exceptional, I'm sure they could find ways to make it open worldy and still fun. Don't think I ever completed the demo of that(being like 7-8) but always remember it being a really cool game. |

I think I agree with this, tbh. Although GTA 3 was very good, maybe they should just remake that. |

They got away with the insane GTA style arsenal within London in the movie BrotherHood. I agree it would need some tweaking but the formula itself would not have to change much. We're a far more close-combat nation as far as crime goes and a lot of crime is highly DIY and gang related, they could have a field day with creative weaponry and a refined melee system. Would be a great excuse for them to make a suit of armour and a claymore and let people run around London going medieval on the locals. Combat is the only real thing that needs to change. Driving and everyday-life aspects could stay exactly the same and there's not too much of a cultural divide from London and California as far as popular themes, fashion and motivation goes. You could take Franklin, give him a British accent and dump him into a south London estate and it'd work fine. It'd definitely twist the knife for the government and censorship though. Britain loves to mock other countries but we just seem to take it so personally if anyone besides ourselves mock us

Actually yeah if it was in Britain you could bet there'd be tons of s*** involving annoying or killing politicians, that wouldn't go down well. A mission to run a guy who looks suspiciously like Boris Johnson off his bike I think the only way it could work is if it took on a 70's crime thriller aesthetic. In this day and age we don't really have many bank robberies and stuff like that, being set in that era could work. Plus the soundtrack could be suitably epic. If it got made I'd hope whoever did IV did it, the physics and whatnot in that game are so much better than V. They could probably make a good melee system, in IV it actually feels like you're hitting someone. All in all something a bit more toned down than actual GTA with a fleshed out combat system would be great, would be cool to be some sort of hitman. Maybe you could take part in cool missions like fighting with football hooligans in order to take out a specific one, so you have to mingle in the fight and stab the right guy then get out of there quick. And then perhaps instead of just the police you could have a gang reputation system too, wherein which some gangs learn that you're a thief or a murderer etc if they see you do stuff. But if one gang knows you steal lots of s*** from them, their rival gang might start to like you. Stuff like that could be cool. A big explosive adventure with tanks and mayhem would be a bit silly. |

I don't see any need to conform to the realism of our country. Take the doomsday heist from V or the entire final chapter for example, not exactly everyday happenings in America either. The crime always starts small and petty and grows to be obscenely over the top, I think it could very much work in a modern Britain. Considering our national sense of humour I could imagine the game being incredibly self aware. |

Realism is very overrated in video games. GTA 4 gets/got flack for the realistic driving, even so much that Rockstar changed it to GTA V. |

Yeah an online thing where there's a lot more silly content though, and that came out many years later. GTA is satire, if you go further than being vaguely similar to the country you're making a parody of...then you're just Saints Row really. Making it too whacky and outlandish is their thing. I was considering checking out S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but then my favourite YouTuber started playing it and...yeah, it's a bit dated. Looks cool but not for me. Metro it is! When I have money! Haha...ha...

Decided to back The Good Life on Kickstarter for around £7. It looks too mental to pass up, seems like it has a good chance of meeting it's goal, hopefully it exceeds it so they can make the game even better. Not been much in to games lately, bit of a slump. Still playing Monster Hunter but it's more "Playing" rather than "Enjoying" I want to buy Metro 2033 but I are poor, wish I could find motivation to play other games I already have... |

I'm very excited for the final world Nomura has teased as something he's wanted to do for a very long time. The man can be incredibly inventive especially when he has decent time to work on an idea so I'm intrigued by what it could be. |

I caved in and ordered Metro Redux. Shopping can be annoying sometimes, I only wanted Metro 2033 Redux, £18 which is okay I guess. Or Metro Redux, which has that and Last Light which I've already played and don't really want to again... £15. srs bro, two games costs less than one? Why do this!In any case looking forward to an FPS that's before everything copied the same Call of Duty formula. |
