Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Yeah mixed is decent just usually if it's mixed the game is still geared towards a certain thing, like how Dishonored is more about stealth. You can go in like a madman but it's not really designed that way.

Games that stick to their strengths usually turn out decent.

Still enjoying Shadow of Mordor.
Some of the Captains/Warchiefs are a bit ridiculous though...Combat Master, Beast Hunter, Immune to Projectiles, Immune to Stealth, no fears...how the f*** are you supposed to kill them then!?

I think the only thing the sequel really needs is better combat, Uruks being immune to stuff is a bit insane like you can just shoot them in the back of the head and it will bounce off, come on man...!

Or maybe they just have these otherworldly powers in the books, in the films they all go down in one hit...

Oh, I completely forgot about Shadow of Mordor. I played that...last year I think, and completed it (which as I mentioned, is rare for me). I liked it, but the combat was a little simple. That isn't too much of an issue with me, but it's nice to have more variety in what you can actually do, rather than just button mashing.

Enjoyable game though. I liked that you could earn certain orcs a higher rank by letting them kill you. I would do that just to see what their names would be and then build them up higher just to take them down.

Yeah it's got some really cool ideas in it they just needed to flesh out the combat but being the first iteration in a series obviously we can't expect perfection there.

I think that system is really cool, it's nice that dying has some consequences you don't just get to retry over and over until you win, whoever kills you gets stronger and stronger until you find a way to beat them.
So far nobody has killed me more than 3 times, those bastard spear guys are the worst especially when they have poison...

Since I'm doing well my Nemesis is just chosen at random

IIRC my nemesis was one of the crossbow guys. Mulgarrah the Scarred, or something like that.

Don't worry, I'm SAF and it still looks 3D.

I could never get into Assassin's Creed, although I didn't give it a fair shot. I played it for about an hour and it didn't grab me, but that was a while ago now.

Yeah Shadow of Mordor is a pretty fun game. It's pretty similar to Assassin's Creed and the Batman Arkham games. Looking forward to Shadow of War.

As for Assassin's Creed I've been playing those games for years. The only one I have yet to play is Unity. I actually just beat Syndicate this morning. I've heard Unity isn't very good, but I'm still going to buy it anyways. I'm sorry to hear Fulgore that you stopped playing at AC 3. That is honestly the worst AC game imo. Followed by Revelations, Revelations is ridiculously short. The best ones are Assassin's Creed II and Black Flag. The first one was good, Brotherhood was pretty awesome and Syndicate was good. I have pretty high hopes for Origins, I'm very excited.

I'm actually kind of interested in Origins mainly because it looks good.

From 3 and beyond all the games except 4 just looked...drab?

Climbing big towers in Jerusalem or Italy in the scorching sunlight was absolutely gorgeous.
I know I was playing them on a s***ty PS3 but in my mind I remember it as breathtakingly photorealistic.

But lately they don't seem to do much with grand vistas like that, Revelations was bland. It was sunny sure but everything just looked brown and dull.
It was sunny and nice but...not gorgeous.

Every viewpoint in the older games gave me that "Wow" feeling you get when you find a vista in Dark Souls games.

Of course the gameplay and such matters too but a large part of what the essence of AC is to me has been missing for a long time.

Did you play Syndicate? I didn't think it was going to be very good, but I enjoyed it. It's not as good as some of the other games, but it's a good game to play if you can get it cheap.

Nah I wasn't big on the whole grimey London thing, it looks pretty authentic but not a setting that interests me.

The last one I played was Black Flag but I never got very far in it, was a bit too "samey" and I'd just got my PS4 so had plenty other titles to play.

I might give Origins a bash if the reviews hold up, if CoD can have a few chances over the years why not AC.

Actually now that I think about it...I really haven't enjoyed a Ubisoft game for a loooong time.

I see. I have super high hopes for Origins (I've said that too many times I think).

I really liked Black Flag. It probably helps that I've always really been into pirate stuff. Pirates of the Caribbean is definitely one of my favorite movie series.

I guess I forgot that I haven't played Rogue either. Have you played that one?

Nah I've avoided them for a while, especially with the performance issues they seem to have often.

I'd still love to see one fully set in WW2 with some revamped gameplay. It'd be so cool to run through battlefields contributing to the war effort, kinda like Wolverine and Sabretooth in Wolverine: Origins

I guess the meta of the series would need to be totally different for that kind of thing to work and they're not about to change the formula that drastically.

Think I might drop Fallout and start Fallout 2 instead. At this point I've watched a playthrough of it wayyyy past where I got so nothing would really be a surprise...
Kinda bummed at that but it was still fun to play...even if it was on a big TV where it's hard to read any of the text.

I haven't played more than one quest of it, but in Syndicate you can partially play in WWI in London as Jacob's granddaughter. It's far from being an actual war game though. But yeah, that'd be cool if we got WWII. I was actually expecting it eventually since we got the Revolutionary War, but at this point I doubt it. I think they're close to being done with the games.
