Yeah never understood the hype for that one, an insane amount of variety to all the characters doesn't automatically make it good there's got to be some cohesion to it all. Else it's just like old CoD games where everyone is just throwing and firing grenades constantly and you can't walk more than a few feet before being killed. Just a mess. Good God. I put FFXV as my most disappointing game this year...this was before I got to chapter 13. Absolutely dreadful. This is the most boring and poorly thought out section to an otherwise decent video game I have ever played. If this game had another year to fill out the story a bit more it could have been one of the best Final Fantasies, easily. |

I see people liking FFXV because it's nothing like the other FF games. I can see the appeal now that it's not strictly a turn-based RPG anymore. |

While I'm a big fan of the older turn based games I don't really mind that in this it has great aspects to it. Just the game kind of falls apart if you have to fight multiple enemies that are close to your level. Castlemark dungeon is an absolute nightmare. You have to fight 3 Red Giant's, like 15 Flan's, about the same of some Imp type enemy and a big snake thing. In a fight you might have to repeat multiple times if you get the randomized puzzle wrong. Even if you're 20 levels higher than the enemies you can barely move without being hit by something and knocked away, very frustrating. Other than that the combat is pretty nice and the soundtrack accentuates it brilliantly. |

So Scalebound has been cancelled... Another blow to Xbox fans, lots of people were hyped for that. It really seems like Microsoft just doesn't care about the platform they put no effort in to securing good exclusives for it. Even if the Scorpio is 10 times more powerful than the PS4 Pro...what are you meant to play on it? Surely they should have thought that far ahead? An X1 might as well be a paperweight right now, in terms of games at least. |

It still doesn't really do much to grab fans compared to every other platform. Aside from the Switch... 2 launch games confirmed so far, for £280...ouch. That's a big sum of money for little first party content, they really need to get some games out for the thing fast. Apparently it has 80 games in development but that includes the third party ports I believe. That price is a bit steep for March when many are still recovering after Christmas. I can see why they wouldn't want to release at Christmas last year and how this year would have the gap between the others even bigger but...still it's surely going to struggle. The paid subscription service may keep it going though, PlayStation Plus seemed to do wonders for Sony. |

The price for the switch doesn't look that bad, it could have been priced higher, given the titles that will be on the console. Skyrim, possibly Fallout, with the ability to play on the move, it's got a good selling point. Why sit down and play Fallout 4 when you can lay in bed and do it. |

Yeah, I think it's reasonable considering the Scorpio will probably be priced at around £500 or even more. Remember though, these are the titles we know of NOW, they might have a bunch of other games planned for release, like Virtual Console games. I'd still like to see Mother 3, even though I can play that any time I want wherever I want. It would be good for the Mother series to have it localized to Europe and North America. I know paid online service will be poorly received by most, but I don't think it'll be too bad. If they don't get the traffic they intend to, they might even remove it after a while. Zelda and Mario looks badass. |

Kinda bad timing though because you can do exactly that with the VR sets and people are very interested in them right now. They might have a good chance if the movement controls are great and they sufficiently support games that use them. Red Steel and Wii Sports were awesome...and then the Wii kind of died. Maybe since Splatoon launched they've been thinking of expanding what they do with multiplayer but it's definitely going to need some good titles early on. EDIT Oh yeah the free games every month...last only that month. Basically you get a month long demo instead of the full game, they definitely need to fix that one that'll rub people the wrong way for sure. Edited by Steve, Jan 14 2017, 12:16 AM.

Eh, the thing with VR headsets is that they cost quite the pretty penny (Vive for example costs $800, Oculus Rift costs $600) and then on top of that you need a PC that can actually still run the games without dropping from 60 fps unless you want to get motion sickness like no tomorrow. Nevermind the cost of the games on top of that... it's not really anything you can compare to the Switch which is precisely the cost of the console and the game.

I don't think that's really an issue if you just use the headset as a second screen though but there's also remote play for this anyway, the only benefit to the Switch there is being able to take it outside without relying on the internet but I doubt that many people have an actual need for it. A gaming laptop would be more practical since you could use it for games and office work. Tablet PC even. Now that I finally have some money on the go I can actually get games Quite interested in this Nioh game, it's clearly just Dark Souls but if it's as polished as Bloodborne and decently long it'll be a good buy. Not pre-ordering though. The visual style looks awesome. Also can't wait for the Berserk game...I hope it's got a bit more challenge to it than the usual crappy Musou games. Looks well crafted at least. |

Nah, VR will still be way more expensive than a Switch, no question about it. Not everybody will be able to afford VR any time soon (2-5 years) and more people will be able to afford the Switch. |

My point was interest though not expense, if some really good VR games come out people will want them more since the Switch isn't really doing anything special. VR while still in it's infancy is very different. |

But what is special about it though? It's just a more powerful handheld. In like 3-4 years every handheld will be as powerful as it or close enough. It's really not a huge leap forward, like the Wii was for motion controls. |
