Alien Isolation had pretty impressive A.I.

The Xeno in that game was such a f***ing troll.

Here here..

Does anyone else feel Bloodborne does a lot of things better than Dark Souls series? I finished the game and felt it was better than Dark Souls and II

WAY better in my opinion.

That f***er...

Actually haven't completed that yet got a bit annoyed with it, sucks how it can take like half an hour to sneak through one area then if it turns one corner unexpectedly or a f***ing android gets in your way you have to play through it all over again.
Those androids are complete dicks though if they see you that's pretty much it 'cause fighting them pretty much always alerts the xeno.

The visuals and atmosphere in that game are f***ing on point. Imagine Colonial Marines was like that instead of the literal piece of s*** we got.

Agreed, those were even more annoying than the Xeno. Also those dudes with guns in that section where you have to sneak through them.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Yeah I felt like the human conflict didn't really add anything but I guess it would be boring if it was always the alien or androids.

Just felt a bit forced that most people instantly start attacking you, that's never happened in the Alien movies...even in the one where they're in a God damn prison.

Would have been better if people were kind of like sidequests and you could choose to help them or just ignore them or use them as decoys to get away from the Xeno, would have made no kill runs more interesting.

Yeah Bloodborne is a lot more memorable I find, it felt as polished as the other games should have been.
When playing DS2 my thoughts were largely "This is it?" Bloodborne was more "THIS is it"

Still wish they had clear stories though instead of the whole game basically being "Okay so where's the next boss fight?" vague quotes and stuff scattered throughout, I want to actually care about what's going on while I'm getting torn to pieces.

I just popped in my old XvsT for reminiscing the good old Hard Core clan matches in MSN back in the day. I wish the multiplayer was still alive but I guess Single player will do for now.

Good point, I don't actually remember what either Dark Souls, DS2 or Bloodborne was about.

Can I politely ask you to change your font colour please? I use a white background and I can't read your posts without highlighting over your text.

Dark Souls One was about an undead warrior who was prophecised to kill the great lord Gwyn and take his place as the new lord of wherever it was set. The prophecy turns out to be bulls*** but you get manipulated into doing it anyway.

Dark Souls Two is a similar plot but instead of being told to kill Lord Gwyn, you are told to save the great flame and become it's guardian forever. Again you are manipulated into doing this when you have no real reason to.

Bloodborne is about... killing an alien.

Pretty sure there was more to it than meets the eye.

I didn't play it until the end, though, so I don't know much of it.

There was a lot of birthing references. It's never explained in black and white but I got the impression that the main bad guy created a bunch of people using its own dna and you play as one of them. When you kill the alien, you die too.

I thought the Amygdala or whatever were some kind of greater beings not aliens?
Then you kill the secret main one and become a squid.

Makes sense right?

Right?

Imagine how good these games would be if they had some awesome or even just above average storytelling.

Demon Souls probably has the best story. Demons have taken over the world and you need to stop them. The end. Great game by the way. I hope we get a PS4 or PC release one day.

That seems... rather simple.

It's brilliantly simple. The complete opposite of Final Fantasy 13.

Yeah these games need brilliantly simple or good not...vague.

I don't want to have to do some Destiny s*** where I have to rely on item descriptions to figure out a story.

They're pretty shallow if you never look in to the story pretty much just get pointed in the direction of the next area, kill some s***, occasionally get a cutscene you have literally no context for until you're done.

Like this crazy goon, who knows what the hell he's talking about half the time...
With his weird orgasmic moans and howls.

Just want a clear cut "bad s*** is happening, you can be the hero or the bane of the world yadda yadda"

Disgaea's coming out on PC. That game looks really cool. It's a Final Fantasy Tactics style of game where you can level up to 9999 and deal damage in the millions.

I've noticed that these jrpgs are suddenly appearing on Steam. I wonder if we will soon see a port of Lunar? Fingers crossed. That is one of the greatest rpg series of all time.
