I got the ROM for one of those on the DS not sure which, it seemed pretty cool I liked having to use different elemental powers to solve puzzles and s***. I miss games where you have to think like that, instead of just walk up to a "puzzle" press the action button and then huzzah you win the "puzzle" So, I see now how...well, not very far in Bloodborne lol some people have health bars like four times bigger than mine, Christ. Also this game is extremely unforgiving... I just got a gem thing you can put on your weapon to give you an upgrade "Hp continuously recovers +1" So basically, health regen. OP? You'd think so but that +1 basically means +1 health every X seconds, seems to be 1-4 seconds. With my tiny health bar I have just under 700 health. So that's 11-46 minutes for a full heal meaning it's pretty much useless unless you're really that desperate and as I said my health bar is tiny so later on you'd be looking at hours to heal. They spared no expense in making this game evil like that

Bloodborne has a steep learning curve. Took me ages just to beat the first boss. Then fought it again on new game + and it was a joke. |

Yeah that felt like a really tough boss. Honestly I find half the enemies harder than the actual bosses though, most of them have pretty well telegraphed attacks but then standard enemies are just utter dicks. Regular slashes and whatnot and then suddenly they pull a bulls*** combo on you that stunlocks you and you die or nearly like wtf? Even the dogs at the start they bite you then get you another two times before you can possibly do anything, bulls*** lol. Think I'm vastly underleveled for this part of the game... Also just got taken to the Old Hunters place I think...where the standard enemies take half my health off per hit. Seems fair. |

I think my new PS4 may have broken my TV... 2 days ago when I turned it on I noticed some weird pink and green pixels flickering around on certain parts of the screen. A quick reset of my PS4 fixed that. Then it happened again next time...but resetting didn't fix it. After struggling to fix it for ages, I gave up, but my TV turned itself off, and when I turned it back on it had been fixed (turning it off manually didn't seem to work). This happened AGAIN next time, but this time it didn't turn off, it just kinda corrected itself after a while. Now it's happened again today. It didn't seem to be fixing itself, but I turned my ps4 off, and after about 5 minutes my TV turned itself off again and when I turned it on the problem had been fixed...until I turned on my PS4 and it immediately started up again. God damnit, Playstation. Wii U never caused this kind of trouble for me

It's not the HDMI cable. It doesn't just affect the PS4, it's the entire TV. It just only ever happened when I got the ps4 though, and I literally just saw it activate it from being normal to going bad as soon as I turned the console on. Right now it's actually just been flickering between the broken pixely screen and normal. It's never really done that before. It lands on normal a few times, then goes back to fighting itself, landing on weird and back to fighting... It's either very unfortunate timing, or the console caused it. |

Maybe a build up of static done something? Can mess with stuff like that. Not that I know how to fix it or anything. God damn I'm really enjoying Bloodborne now, been putting off playing it for months. Might get Dark Souls III. Definitely prefer the faster pace to Bloodborne though I much prefer shields to guns, they feel kind of useless in Bloodborne. I know they're the only way you can perform the special counter moves but...you never really need to, unless you're doing PVP. I'm just at the point where you go to the area with the witches...I have a sword that does fire damage and slowly heals me so this is hilarious since they seem to be weak to fire in typical witch fashion The art designers for this game really need to make a horror title most of the creatures are creepy as heck, rivaling Silent Hill at times. |

It's a great game. Much better than Dark Souls II. I can't wait for Dark Souls III as the original designer who was absent for II is back on the deign team. |

Honestly, I think Bllodbourn is a horror title, even if it doesn't outright say so. Personally I like the guns, the idea at least. Honestly I think learning how to use them is gonna be important to me soon if I want to advance. Edited by Tinny, Jan 4 2016, 12:06 AM.

I think proper use of guns in Bloodborne breaks the game. Correct timing can make any boss in the game a complete joke. |

I guess it kind of is it's just absent of most of the helplessness horror usually has. Like what Silent Hill: Downpour did where you could just beat up all the enemies, well most of them. Oh no a creepy zombie thing...doesn't matter much considering I can throw a fire extinguisher at it's head from like 20ft away Yeah I find myself only using guns to get an enemies attention or if they're shooting me from up high. The damage they do is way too poor for them to be useful besides the OP counter moves. Though I just got the cannon, I will definitely be using that What was different between DS 1 and 2? I've only played 2, it was pretty decent. |

there's no hub area and you don't get to teleport until like halfway through the game, so it's a bit more linear i guess. you can still choose the order in which you visit most of the areas, though, but the game makes it pretty obvious for newbies which way they should be going enemies don't stop respawning in the original. one of the worst decisions imo was having it so that you need to use ascetics and make the game harder to be able to farm certain areas. pretty sure their logic was "we should make them stop respawning so people who have trouble can permanently clear the area" lmao. no ascetics in ds1 at all estus flasks are tied to bonfires in that you start with 5 but can use a humanity to increase the number of flasks to 10 (up to 20 once you get a certain item) but you need to rest at that bonfire to refill. like if you have 8 or something and go to a bonfire you havent kindled then it won't refill any more since it would only give you 5 normally. there's also no lifegem stupidity but you can use humanities to heal if you run out of flasks. speaking of bonfires, there aren't nearly as many. most areas will have just one or two instead of 3-5 in dark souls 2 fewer weapon types so there's a lot less diversity, but there are very few "bad" weapons and it's more about personal preference those are the only main ones i can think of right now overall the thing I'd miss most going from ds2 to 1 would be the upgrade system. in ds1 they only give you one slab of each kind and you have to farm for f***ing hours to be able to get more of them so you pretty much have to choose early on which weapon you want to commit to using or risk wasting your materials. in ds2 it's so much easier to upgrade everything so if you try out a weapon and don't like it then you can just get materials for another one easy peasy. also there are no soul vessels in ds1 so if you make a mistake with your build then lol oops too bad also pyromancy is OP in ds1 and since fire damage doesn't scale with faith or int then you can go full strength or dex and still have max-powered pyromancies by just upgrading your flame |

Sounds a lot more brutal, I might try it at some point, probably after 3 just so I've played them all. I hope DS3 takes some inspiration from Bloodborne, like how basically every weapon is a viable one you could use through the whole game if you wanted, that's pretty cool. I tend to always pick the weapon I think looks coolest so it's a real downer when that turns out to be a meh weapon. Had my first PVP fight in Bloodborne(I think) Lost, just but the dude had the DLC and was clearly higher level than me so ha. I lost because he must have been at like 0.5% health or some s***, thought he was dead then he gets a final attack in with a katana looking thing. It was funny 'cause he fell down in to this poison area and had to walk all the way back, so I hid behind a pillar thing and he totally fell for it. Shame he still won, would have been hilarious. |

Well...Bloodborne's final bosses were underwhelming. Gehrman took me 4 or 5 tries, first time I forgot to set up my gear and runes properly then another time I got cocky and tried heavy weapons. It's pretty much a case of approach him, soon as he moves walk back until he attacks, roll forward, slash 3 times then roll away again. Some of the standard bosses were way harder to fight... The only thing difficult about him is that he does so much damage but still with a blood vial max of 26 I left the fight with 9 and that's only through being overly cautious. The secret boss was a joke. Then you win the game and...turn in to a squid. Makes sense. |

Where would these games rank on your all time list? like in your top ten or outside or nowhere near. Star Wars TOR? Elders Scroll IV? Skyrim? Golden Eye? Grand Theft Auto San Andreas? Mass Effect 2? Dragon age origins? Witcher 3? MGS4? MGS3? MW2? COD Ops 1? Super Mario Galaxy 2? |
