They rely on gimmicky hardware to sell copies, which works for people who want to game with family members and friends, but more serious gamers are obviously going to go with PlayStation or Xbox. None of my gamer friends have the Wii U as their primary or favorite console. It's always just a nice thing to have on the side. It's cool that a new Zelda game is coming out soon, but other than that what does Nintendo really market besides Mario? I just don't see them succeeding for much longer when they're just going further down the same path. |

It's not about graphics and "serious gaming". Nintendo >> Sony in terms of everything. |

The Gamepad is an absolutely amazing gimmick, to be fair. Also, they help Nintendo stand out. Instead of just making an extremely powerful console that's very similar to the PS4/X1, they offer a different experience and, considering a lot of their games aren't focused on life-like graphics, they don't need as much power to make their games look gorgeous. |

LOL I mean I won't lie, Nintendo has it when it comes to fun with your friends, but its single player games are weak. And I agree, the game pad was a nice addition. It's really fun to play with your friends. But that can only get Nintendo so far, which is what I was saying. They need to branch out a bit. As of right now, they're just too niche. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it isn't going to get them much further. Edited by Doggo Champion 2k17, Dec 25 2015, 09:04 PM.

That's not true. Sony's hardware performs better and they have full third party support. Plus they're outselling Nintendo. The only things I'd argue are superior are their first party games. I mean Nathan Drake is the closest thing Sony has to a mascot right now. Not that it matters when they are selling more consoles. Nintendo's online service is s***ty too. They still have the archaic notion that people would rather play multiplayer in the same room as each other. Whilst that has its merits and multiplayer should always have a local play option, it doesn't fit with the current Zeitgeist. I think that's one of their biggest issues. Too reluctant to adopt more modern innovations. Is there even a headset or microphone for their online experience? Oh and still no dvd or blu ray compatibility either. They come across as dinosaurs. |

I actually really liked the Wii. I'm not sure if I liked it more than the GameCube exactly but it's the height of Nintendo for me. And then the Wii-U is pretty much just "Okay, that exists" I loved playing shooting games with the Wii remote and feeling like a right badass in Red Steel with a sword(though it was super easy mostly) Resident Evil 4 was great fun too. Then they swapped that out for a tablet, just felt boring in comparison like right, now I have an oversized controller and no interesting control methods, I can tap s*** on the screen to manage inventories and whatnot...not wave swords about or play tennis/bowling from the comfort of my own couch or box a mate in the face. I think Nintendo really needs to sort the third party situation, it's been lacking and I feel that's what went wrong with the Wii. I mean I can play Nintendo games...but what about when I get a bit bored of doing that and they start feeling the same? Still only got Nintendo games. It'd get pretty s*** if you had to stick to Uncharted, God of War, Resistance, Killzone etc etc for PlayStation wouldn't it? But you don't have to, hundreds of other games come out every year on it, Xbox and PC. |

I like Black Ops 3. I hate Halo 5, and will not be giving Halo 6 a chance. Forever I considered myself a Halo fan, but the tides have turned. COD has upped its game, no pun intended. I'll be giving Rainbow Six: Seige a chance later. |

Yeah I watched someone play it as their firsts Halo and it just looked like dog s*** from what I remember way back on Halo on the original Xbox. I hear the story was s*** too, they hyped up conflict between Master Chief and that other guy like it would be a big thing and it didn't even happen. Not sure why this s*** keeps happening, is it so hard to write a story where that kind of thing does happen instead of just pretending? Like The Order, everyone thought it was this big supernatural hunting adventure. No. Just f***ing werewolves. They even mention vampires at one point too IIRC so it's not like only werewolves exist... I got £90 for PSN and no clue what to buy Feel like tackling Bloodborne again and getting the DLC if it's good enough, otherwise no f***ing clue. |

I see the point of why Nintendo is lacking, but it's still my childhood. I still think the Wii U stands up very well with individual games like Smash, Mario Kart, Splatoon and soon Zelda. They also have a lot of selling points in actual good remasters like Wind Waker and soon Twilight Princess. How many series' can brag about having an amazing remaster? I can really only think og Colossus/Ico and the Sly Cooper games. |

That's all true but I don't think it's enough. They need to do more to stay in the market. |

What other good remasters do they have? Zelda is all I hear about on that front. In any case they just don't have the library to keep up, there are tons of games but many of them old and not appealing to the youth of today they don't want to go back and play piece of s*** N64 era games because they have no fond memories of them like us golden oldies. They have games on their phone more technologically advanced. The problem is Nintendo is stuck in the past and well, not everyone is from there. Generations change Nintendo games largely have not aside from from a technical perspective. That said f*** knows what they could do, aside from a God damn Pokémon open world game I wouldn't know where to start were it up to me. Put CoD on the NX? CoD and GUNS, lot's of guns and blood. Mario Zombies Mode? Peach in skimpy impractical "armour" fighting aliens. More zombies? |

Their first party games are fine. They just need better hardware, online multiplayer and way more third party games. That's all. A blu ray player would be a nice bonus. |

New generation kids play Super Mario 3D World and might want to go back and play those "piece of s***" N64 games? Maybe? It's not like Nintendo are the only ones focusing on the past, with all this backwards compability talk that has happened in 2015. Sony release oldies aswell, still. As far as "what could they do", they have innovated almost every single Mario and Zelda game. This also goes for Metroid fyi. If you don't want to see that as innovation, that's on you.
