Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Yeah I still don't see why people say digital games are all round better, they have their benefits but plenty disadvantages too. Big one in many cases being expiration dates like if you don't connect to the internet within a year you simply won't be able to play some games until you connect and verify that you paid for it again.
Then there's issues with playing the same game on different PC's or a friends console whereas with a disc you can just pop it in and you're good to go.

I'll still always prefer a physical collection, much prettier than a hard drive.

Speaking of Triple A games of 2015, Rise of the Tomb Raider has gotten grand reviews. Still need to play the first one of the reboot.

I want to play it as the first in that series was pretty good. Wouldn't say excellent but good.

Not getting it at full retail though, this timed exclusivity crap needs to stop not only is it pointless it's simply annoying and a massive f*** you to fans.

I think it would be cool if there was a timed exclusive system for fans only.

Like you have to answer a quick questionnaire about a game series and if you're within the first 50-100k for speed and answers you get the game a few weeks early as well as a minor discount and maybe some weapon skins or whatever fits with the game.
That'd be awesome, then it's not really dividing people so much fans who anticipate games greatly and know their stuff are rewarded for their loyalty to a series.

Instead of say someone who plays on PS4 having a whole game room dedicated to Tomb Raider, obviously being a huge fan and just being told "Yeah f*** you comes out 4-6 months later on PS4 for no good reason hahahaha"

C'mon, Bethesda, shape up. 0fps at any time is completely unacceptable.

I don't know what people were expecting sometimes in New Vegas you'd get 1 frame per 5 seconds...

Easily the biggest game of the year, no way would it run perfect that would be a sign of the apocalypse for sure.

Hopefully they can get it somewhat stable though.

People shouldn't give Bethesda a free pass, though. If any other developer tried getting away with this, they'd get destroyed. Still confused why they seem to be using the same basic engine that they did with the previous games; apparently it's causing a bunch of problems due to being ancient.

Also interesting to note how much trouble the X1 has, despite it seemingly getting preferential treatment before.

I remember grinding on Fallout 1 and 2.

They changed the set of the game so much.

X1 is slower than the PS4, while the PS3 and Xbox 360 both had their own strengths, though the PS3 needed some specific optimizations to fully utilize its hardware. With "generic" code, like you get in cross-generation games, the Xbox 360 is almost always the winner.

Bethesda really does suck at the technical aspects of their games; Fallout 4 looks like an Xbox 360 game, but it can't even sustain 30 FPS. Compare it to something like Star Wars Battlefront (a real 60 FPS game) and Horizon Zero Dawn (30 FPS, open world, amazing graphics) and you can really see how outmatched Bethesda is.

PC performance is pretty poor as well.
I love building PCs. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask. I can help you with almost any kind of PC you'd want to build.

How would they?

I can't think of a single game that hasn't had issues at launch in the past few years, why is it so awful when it's Bethesda? The game isn't even officially released yet so why are people acting like this is it totally done, as though they're never going to release any patches?

Witcher 3 had some serious issues at launch and most of those got fixed, still got like 8+ in reviews generally.

A bit of FPS drop hardly ruins the game. Battlefront might look pretty but if you strip the Star Wars aspect away from it...there's nothing particularly special about it it's as standard an FPS as there is.

Yeah, but do you think that any other company that's had a history as bad as Bethesda's would have any credibility if every single game they released was expected by the masses to be a buggy mess? People tear into literally every other buggy game, but with Bethesda, ''All of their games are buggy at launch, it's fine.'' It's a problem with a lot of games, yes, but Bethesda is, by far, the worst offender.

I agree, a bit of FPS drop isn't the end of the world, but when parts of your game are running at ~20fps, single-digit fps and outright 0fps at times, you need to step back and consider fixing it, either by delaying the game or, if you're early in development, changing the engine.

If they released consistently good games that got consecutive GOTY awards then yeah.

It's not like they get such high ratings for no reason.

Would it be good to have them without bugs? Yes.
Are they still fun with them? Immensely, unless you're one to focus on minor faults instead of enjoying everything else.

That's the problem, though.

''The game's still fun with the bugs/glitches, so it's fine.''

That's a dangerous mindset. Bugs and glitches shouldn't exist in the first place; if you're shipping a product that you know contains a lot of them, that's wrong. Not even minor issues, major framerate drops are a huge issue that can really impact an individual's enjoyment of a game, and the fact that the X1 version actually dropped to 0fps is ridiculous. Bethesda need to get with the times and do a complete overhaul; if all of their games have a multitude of glitches and bugs, it must be the engine they're using. You'd think they'd update it or go with an entirely different one for next-gen, but as we've seen with the problems with Fallout 4, they seemingly haven't.
