Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Did anyone else not get an invite to this DOOM beta/alpha even though they pre-ordered Wolfenstein?

Pretty bulls***, apparently you were supposed to sign up to it a week ago.

Not had one email for it, already entered the code from Wolfenstein and I'm sure it said I'd be notified.
Unless it's just not in the UK yet but it seems as though it is.

Not that I won't get the game if it's decent but still that sucks dick.

I'm not entirely sold but I think it looks good, will just have to see what it's like online.

Hopefully it's difficult in single player too.

Visually it looks amazing anyway, that brutality...

I played Walking Dead but couldn't continue since the options were not what I would do and it annoyed me.

Yeah I like the idea of those sort of games but the ideals of the characters never apply to me.

Like oh no there's a child in danger, sacrifice yourself for them...why? Not family, don't even know them. Why would you sacrifice yourself for a child in a zombie apocalypse when they'll die on their own anyway...like possibly minutes after you save them.

According to Konami, Kojima is still a employee.

What the hell?!

滅Are you frightened?

This good news but why did he purposely leave out Chapter 3? I mean he never done that before, and the way Chapter 2 felt "off", just wtf?

I don't think one hand knows what the other is doing.

Nah apparently it wasn't down to him at all, he kept adding stuff and stretching the budget so they got pissed off with him.

I'm not sure if he really is there or what, maybe this is an elaborate hoax because they said they were removing his name from their products...yet it shows up every five minutes in MGSV.

I'm not sure what to believe here, on the one hand it sounds like they had major differences...but on the other they couldn't really afford to lose him, evidently.
Or maybe they managed to get him back and are just pretending he never left.

I don't see why they didn't let him finish, they made more then the Avengers. Plus, the game was widely anticipated.

This seems most likely, I guess we have to wait next year for some confirmation.

Unless Kojima is just a slave and they thought about setting him free but fan reaction proved that would be a bad idea...poor guy!

As for why they didn't finish it guessing they didn't want to put more money in to it, not sure on the stats for what the game cost but...a lot I'm guessing since they designed the Fox Engine for it too.
Pretty sure Konami hasn't been rolling in dough for a long time now...guess they thought MGSV would save them even if it was unfinished.

To be fair though if it did cost a whole hell of a lot to make putting more in they wouldn't stand to make any money from the game without putting micro-transactions everywhere or having endless DLC. Unless they just sold it for a higher price, obviously that wouldn't go down well with most people.
So I wouldn't say they're completely to blame here, why should they bankrupt the company just to fund one mans ambition? Not exactly a realistic business move.

I think Kojima's decision to make it a big open world game sealed it's fate more than anything. I like the guy but come on, he's not perfect.

This kind of contradicts what was posted earlier this year.

According to Rika Muranaka, she said "the reason Konami and Kojima split is because Kojima was not paid a portion of the profits on game sales, but was instead paid a fixed wage regardless of the success of the game. That, combined with an incredibly high budget, sparked the breakup."

Quote:

Daley: "The main reason for the falling out, at least in her opinion, is that Kojima gets paid a salary, and doesn't make any profit share on the game. He gets paid a certain amount no matter what, and he was spending so much money and delaying the project, and adding all these features and making sure the game was the biggest and best thing it could be, and Konami was unhappy with that because [delaying] has no effect on him. He was spending the budget on this and that and upgrading the Fox Engine and then delaying further because the engine wasn't ready, and Konami wasn't happy with that because he gets his salary and he takes a more traditional "Japanese man" approach by not taking a profit share. So in doing that, he gets a little more than a game creator would but doesn't take bonuses from the game selling well."

Yong: "So you're telling me that Kojima wanting to make the game the best it can be is what started the conflict?"

Daley: Yes. In her eyes, Kojima's a fantastic creator, and probably the best creator of his time, but he doesn't have a strong business sense like Konami would like him to have. Where instead of, for example, cutting corners by lowering foliage resolution, he wants to make sure everything looks as good and polished as possible. She said they paid for her to write 30-40 songs that ended up not being used, and he'd tell her to write another one, then another one, then another one, because he settles for what he likes and has a good mind for what people want to see and what people want to hear. (Amen on that, yo: Avirdi's personal addition).

Well, I guess maybe it is just a "falling out" not that he got fired, though he was supposed to be retiring but then he has been saying that for years.

A story was released about why they stopped making Silent Hills too, could be bulls*** to cover stuff up but maybe not.
Basically the game f***ed up the creators and they were scared of what they were making essentially.
