I'm not sure if all of you know about the Redskins back up QB Kirk Cousins, but considering how well RG3 played well last season, I found it very impressive how good Kirk Cousins played in his limited time last season. He looked great in limited time last season and he has looked very sharp in preseason also. What I want your opinion of is his ceiling. When I watched some of his gameplay, I saw excellent footwork, movement in the pocket, and accuracy. He doesn't have a Stafford arm, but he does have enough power to make every throw on the field. I feel like he needs to work on his release and his overall mechanics. I think that he has the potential to be an excellent pocket QB. Eventually he will net the Redskins a good haul when they trade him.

Thoughts?

I think they might let him play for the first games just to see how he does and try a catch a good trade. Gives RG3 rest and all. I think he has potential to become a good QB, though.

Kirk Cousins is a stud. He was projected to go Rounds 2-3 or even 1 if there was a need for QB but most of the teams were fine. The fact of the matter is that the Skins draft commitee or Shannahan made a great call on Cousins. Not only does he have all the intangibles that a good leading QB should he can play like a pro. He is a great back up to have to an injured RGIII & also if RGIII does pan out like he should and Cousins contract comes near to close, then SKins have could probably get a 2nd or 3rd in upcoming draft for a guy like Cousins. One way or another the pros out wiegh the cons when you think about Kirk Cousins and the Skins situation with him.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

Kirk Cousins was a nice surprise and a solid QB. Shanahan is good at developing QBs and as someone said, they should be able to net at least a high third rounder for him, if not a second rounder, when and if they decide to trade him.

Wouldn't it be shocking if RG3 had some sort of injury again and the Skins chose Cousins over RG3 as the franchise QB?

The Niners got two second rounders for Alex Smith, that said, Kirk should be worth a second and easily another 2 or a high 3rd round pick.
