Okay so let me get this straight there are 3 Timelines and 3 different trunks. In the original timeline Trunks is a kid during the android saga, while the Trunks from the future comes to earth because couldn't beat the androids. So how come past Trunks was able to beat the androids before Cell did away with him? How did that Trunks beat the androids in the past when the future Trunks couldn't? Did past Trunks have some special training, or were the androids weaker in that timeline as Trunks did mention that the androids were stronger in the normal timeline. But if SSj Trunks could beat the androids single handedly in the past how come Vegeta couldn't?

He de-activated them with the help of Bulma, and there was no blue balled Krillin to mess the plan up that time.

Thankyou I had no idea, but this leads to another question how come future Bulma didn't do the same

^Good question, I'm not sure. I think that might be a plot hole.

There are 4 timelines

1) Main Timeline

2) Future Trunks' timeline

3) Cell's original Timeline (where Cell kills Trunks and travels to the Main Timeline)

4) The Timeline Trunks from 3) had traveled to, from which he got the device to shut down the androids.

That's how in Timeline 3) Trunks destroys the androids but is killed by Cell.

I though Cell was from the same timeline as the Trunks that killed the androids? Which is referred to as "from the past" (sorry the timeline # sorta confuse me)

The Future Trunks we know also killed the androids lol

Cell came from a different timeline than the Future Trunks we know. In this timeline Cell killed Trunks and used the Time Machine, but before that Trunks had already used the Time Machine, that's where Timeline #4 appears (although we've never seen it in the manga or anime).

When Trunks from Timeline #3 (the one that is later killed by Cell) travels to Timeline #4 he destroys Dr Gero's lab, takes the info on the androids to Bulma, Bulma creates the device to stop the androids, Trunks takes the device back to Timeline #3, Trunks destroys the androids and then is killed by Cell when he was gonna go back to Timeline #3 to let everyone know he had destroyed the androids.
