Alien Invasion or Zombie Apocalypse?

Which would you rather be in? Shove your "Zombie apocalypse will be awesome!" to the side. Purely for better survival of the human race. The aliens would be much more technologically advanced and it would be very hard to beat them.

I would choose Alien Invasion because overcoming a zombie apocalypse would be so hard to do. Firstly, there are millions of zombies. No chance you are able to kill them all and finding a vaccine and then vaccinating them would be impossible. (I do think its impossible to find a cure for being a zombie) Also, if you watch the show Walking Dead, everyone is already infected, so no one would be safe ever, (Unless vaccinated, but still its pretty much impossible)

With an alien invasion, you beat them and they are gone forever unlike the zombies. Also, it might seem easy to kill all the zombies, but isn't. It would probably be easier to kill all the aliens.

Maybe I watch TV too much...

Any aggressive alien species with the technology to reach us from their own planet would likely posses the weaponry to destroy us very quickly. Think modern day armies coming up against medieval armies for instance. It would be that big a gap in technology in my opinion.

I'd much rather face hordes of slow walking, unarmed, stupid zombies than face being persecuted or imprisoned/dissected by aliens.

As much as the war-mongering, "AMERICA! f*** YEAH!", blow s*** up, kick a*** and take names later person inside me would love an alien invasion, I would probably have to go with a zombie apocalypse here unless it actually looked like we had a chance against the aliens.

There may be millions more zombies, but they wouldn't have foreign weapons and hopefully they'd be the more realistic walkers instead of the ridiculous runners. Blowing the legs off of a zombie, going prone and just backing up slowly as it tries to pull itself toward me would give me great pleasure.

I wouldn't even risk that. Take out the head and don't get cocky. Then quickly move on.

I think it's worth taking into consideration here how actually f***ing scary a single zombie would be in real life. Remember this is a corpse which is frightening enough when it isn't moving, coming at you and trying to rip you apart. You can't get a sense of how terrifying this would be from watching films. Chances are most people would be frozen in fear. Aliens might not be nearly as intimidating.

Dead bodies don't frighten me at all, though. I couldn't accurately say how I'd react if one suddenly started moving, but I doubt I'd be frozen in fear. I'm sure if I survived long enough, any fear that would inhibit me from performing the necessary actions of destruction would severely lessen or dissipate entirely.

I'd have to keep my cockiness in check, I suppose.

Either way I'd get to kill something.

But really, probably zombies. Though aliens would be interesting.

It seams that any kind of aliens would be more dangerous than zombies, that is if they plan to kill us.

Imagine Aliens from movie Aliens,,,now that would be imposible to survive, even if they are only going by instinct...

Nah the Xenomorphs from aliens wouldn't be that effective against an entire race of humans. We have this weapon that can fly into a bunker much like the Xenomorph's nests and create a huge fireball. As long as we knew where the nest was, we could just send a bunch of these into it. Scout it with drones and then send in heavily armoured infantry to finish it off.

That's assuming we knew about the threat before it got too out of hand. The Xenomorphs could theoretically colonize an entire town before anybody really realized what was going on, I think.

Yeah they could take a town or a village. Perhaps most of a city but not much more before we realised what was going on and vaporized their hive.

Just like a zombie, it only takes a few to survive the destruction of a hive to still be a significant threat. It's why it was such a big deal the predators didn't want any Aliens making it to the mainland in AVP. Because they would spread.

Would rather have zombie apocalypse for the reason you stated in your first paragraph: we'd be outmatched if they have the technology to get to us.

As for the part I've highlighted: zombies don't exist at all -- there are so many different types portrayed in the media that you can't really just say that a real zombie will have traits X, Y and Z, and that curing them would be impossible. But anyway I'll throw out my own assumptions, as well.

With whatever little knowledge I have of biology, I'd imagine that any possible zombie outbreaks in real life would be more like what's shown in the film 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later wherein the source of the outbreak is a virus. It'd have to be something that doesn't affect the limbic system, particularly the hypothalamus which is linked to hunger, thirst, some emotions, but affects parts of the brain involved with higher levels of thinking and consciousness: temporal lobe to affect memories, or the frontal lobe so that it severely impairs reasoning. Maybe other parts but then it would overlap with s*** like visual and auditory perception, and motor functioning.

Actually if you take all of that into account, we'd still be left with pretty intelligent zombies depending on what parts of the brain are affected. For example, if all of the limbic system remains, parts involved with memory and learning would still be there which could lead to zombies doing s*** you don't really see in films/books like using door handles or looking for another entrance instead of mindlessly bashing a door or window.

so ye id go w/ zombies. findin a cure for what's most likely to be some sort of virus seems more doable than fighting an alien race that could have some planet-busting machine or some s*** lopl.

sry for nerding out but it got me thinkin lopl

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Zombies for sure.

Largely because honestly I think surviving sounds fun but looking at the world as a whole if it was a zombie plague affecting only humans, it would do the world good.
We do nothing good for this planet, occasionally fix some things, that we caused but that's it with 95% of us dead the world could only improve.

If we survived aliens however we would just be the same, unless we copied their technology and somehow bettered ourselves, but we don't live in a movie that probably wouldn't happen if aliens know how to come here they're already better than us.

It's doubtful aliens would need us for anything they would just study some of us determine us useless and dispose of us for our violence and claim the planet.

If we used biological warfare then may we can send them back to their own part of the universe and introduce zombies to them.

orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr omfg

>alien races invades
>they bring along their own diseases and viruses whether intentionally or uintentionally (maybe one of them was feelin ill but felt like he wanted to take over a planet so came to work anyway)
>their diseases causes both human and alien zombie outbreak
>we have to deal with both aliens and zombies
>fk
