Not really. I'm not saying anything like "it would be good if all the Jewish people died, yes let's do that" There over 7 billion humans, that's too many as it is then add all the cars, wars and other pollution. Name another animal that causes huge oil spills that needlessly kill millions of animals. Name another animal that uses nuclear weapons to destroy their own kind as well as damaging the surrounding area for hundreds of years. So zombie apocalypse, it would get rid of most of us in a way we'd probably never come back from and the rest of the world could get on in peace, no potential world war 3 wiping everything out because of one species that's too much power for a bunch of fools that fight amongst themselves. What would be bad about a world with no humans? |

ur rite. ur talking about potentially a whole species instead of just one group of people stats and figures on population are still under heavy debate and both sides have valid arguments. either way i dont know how anyone can think genocide is the answer implying that oil spills are deliberately caused to specifically harm the environment name another animal that conducts mass amounts of research to find cures for diseases that inflict both human and other animals nothing. but wanting it to happen just makes it seem like you're your own enemy lopl. |

...I didn't imply that at all... Oil spills are our fault entirely, we don't make them happen but it's us who build the pipelines, oil rigs etc. If all the nuclear bombs exploded right now, accident? Yes. Our fault? Completely, rabbits didn't make them. Diseases etc are natures population control that's basic fact they are part of ecosystems so that animals don't become too many, why we have become so many is because of our ability to prevent or even cure them. Look how many species we've caused to go extinct because a) we didn't like them b) they're tasty c) they have something we like, like Ivory(I know elephants aren't extinct) As a whole we are almost completely self serving and anything we fix is usually something we broke in the first place, accidentally or not. Back when we started we didn't need cars or factories to survive but now we do we're dependent on harvesting what can't be replenished. We'll suck this world dry and then find a new one if we can like a virus attacking blood cells. EDIT to be on topic. Why are zombies so popular? My reason seems different than most but what is the general appeal behind them? It seems weird now that I think about it... Edited by Steve, Aug 5 2013, 12:04 AM.

Zombies are popular because they are the ultimate survival test. Humans love to test themselves against the odds. There is no greater test than hordes of undead trying to eat you at every turn. Plus they look really fun to hit with random objects. |

Ah normal people like the danger element to it... I guess that will probably always be appealing more so than vampires or werwolves since it's not like you can logically survive against them unless you are one or have the power of plot. More games like The Last Of Us need to be made but ones where you actually have a chance against the infected things like a well done Move or Kinect game where you can actually bash their heads in as you would rather than bash buttons only for your character to fail where your survival instinct would succeed. |

i think the majority of people are f***ed in any type of apocalypse. people are too indoctrinated by the media thinking "yeah in an apocalypse I'll be this badass with all these weapons walking through town and just like be hero X from film/book Y. people will see me and be in awe" yea nah mate. problems people face everyday arent fully considered in any portrayal of an apocalypse. things like tetanus, back problems, communication, endurance and stamina, very common problems people experience when exercising except this time it's running for dear life and you dont get get 60-second recovery periods, common sickness, lack of proper and sufficient nutrients needed to recover from sickness once all main food sources are depleted, etc. unless you have indepth medical and pharmacutical knowledge, then your chances of managing for even a few years isn't high. inb4icangetbooksandspendmytimestudyingaftereveryone'sdead.
