Are zombie stories played out already? Have people done everything they had to do with zombie related stories?

I like zombies but I'm tired of them.
As far as zombie stories go I haven't seen a zombie-dinosaur movie.
How about Dragon Ball Zombie?

Crazy Awesome Legend

28 Days later revived them as fast moving, super vicious monsters.

The Call of Duty franchise brought them to life as enemies in its Zombie Survival Mode. Then Dead Rising followed up by using them as enemies in a giant sandbox type world.

Zombieland made them interesting by applying a guide book style list of ways to survive against them.

So no, zombies are far from played out. Just gotta keep the stories and ideas as fresh as you can.

I sort of agree. While I personally am tired of seeing zombies, movies like Zombieland I enjoyed. Even "Warm Bodies" had an interesting concept, and that movie was meh.

Your typical zombie movie is crap now, though. Simply having zombies in your movie doesn't make it cool anymore. That died in the early 2000s at the latest.

So what do you think is the next concept craze that's going to take over theaters?

Nah, there's still so much to explore. So many different catalysts, types of zombies, stories etc.

I guess the next big 'fad' within the zombie genre is exploring humanity and the consequences of the apocalypse on that. It's been done so much already, but it never gets stale; there's simply too many directions/possibilities for it to do so.

I'm not sure. I rarely see movies anymore.

I'm not tired of zombie movies and games. But if people don't shut up ABOUT them, then yeah I'd get tired. Either way, I still talk to my friends about zombie apocalypse scenarios and I read the Zombie Survival Guide. I enjoy the franchise.

People that constantly talk about zombies and how they're so awesome and whatnot do annoy me, yeah. It can only go on for so long before it gets stale.

No not at all. Have you guys seen the Walking Dead?

Though I do agree that Zombie movies are bad now. It used to be "Zombies in it? This is going to be good" Now its not like that. It sucks even more when the zombies look so fake (Yes they can look real) But the Walking Dead is simply an amazing show.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

What we need is a real zombie apocalypse, humanity needs a kick in the teeth and if we survive then we deserve to stay.

I think what needs to happen is no more zombie comedy films(unless they're like Zombieland) they just suck so bad, you watch it for zombies not lame jokes and generic non hilarious happens with low budget production.
Don't make them for crying out loud.

Guess it could go on to demons? Aliens are always kind of there doubt they'll see any kind of boom in popularity but demons were killed off as being all that popular ages ago so with technology today they could make a comeback in movies and games.

Twilight killed vampires and werewolves, thanks big dogs and fairies <_<

Vampires almost scared zombies away, but vampires are to sensitive and feminism to scare zombies away.

I think crap like Resident Evil is killing zombies, both the films and the games.
They're just terrible now, absolutely terrible.

I've always wanted to see a movie with a zombie outbreak where there's some kind of superhuman badass who can just totally mess them up. Rather than plain old humans doing stereotypical nonsense and dying in hilariously stupid ways I hope no one will ever because omg humanity why.

Something like let's say the outbreak starts in China or Japan(for population and population density, lots of zombie killing) and they send in this total crazy guy to find Patient Zero(stolen from World War Z) to get DNA samples so they can work out a cure.
It would just be cool to see someone who isn't scared or threatened by zombies totally massacre them.
Could be worked in to a cool game, not like Dead Rising those are just silly.

Why?

Most-of-humanity-needs-to-die-because-there's-too-much-evil-in-the-world type thinking just seems so hypocritical to me.

How is that hypocritical?

I mean because we damage the world far too much, we've been careless and grown too big it just wasn't necessary.
The only other sentient creature on our planet that does similar damage is the ant, but they don't have the cognitive capacity to see that it's stupid.

I don't see why humans need to encompass the whole universe, we're not all that great, that part of our nature I find pathetic.

A zombie apocalypse would fix that the only thing left to do damage would be nuclear reactors and weapons growing unstable and exploding, but that's not definite.
