I buyed new laptop not long ago and i have a feeling that it got slower.

I downloaded a lot of stuff, so can it be because of ram that is more than half full ? (Btw i have free 150 gb more or less from 500gb).

And btw is there any program that can make it go faster ? I downloaded tuneup and cleared laptop from unnecessary files but i still have a fealing that something is holding him down...

Using up hard drive space doesn't slow a computer down too much.

I would advise against downloading things to try and speed up your pc. They often contain viruses and Trojans. So you might want to scan your computer for those using a program called Malware bytes. The only things that can speed up your pc are: defragmenting the hard drive, removing malware/trojans and viruses or installing better hardware. E.g adding more ram, faster cpu or a better gpu.

This is kinda off topic, kinda on topic. Does porn make your laptop slower or is that just a stereotype?

You have to go into the quarantine tab and delete it.

I scanned full system with malwarebytes and it only detected 1 object.

I went to see object and it's crack for a game (Deadpool). It doesn't say anywhere that it's viruse but is malwarebytes especialy for viruses or also for other kind of damaged files ?

I used avira antivirus to scan that file and it doesn't show anything...

Should i remove selected or ignore it ?

If it's a program you know then just ignore it. malware bytes doesn't look for viruses but trojans and malware. They are different things. Malware in particular will slow down your pc. Trojans can destroy it.

I'm just gonna list everything I know about bring your speed up to tolerable levels. You should be good as far as hard drive space goes, generally if you keep around 25% free space or more you'll be running at optimum levels (at minimum you should keep at least 15% at all times).

- Do what Pel said about viruses and malware etc.
- De-fragment your computer. If files are fragmented it takes a longer time to access them.
- Make sure you're installing updates. Some people just keep on putting them off until their computer is almost completely unresponsive.
- Change your power options to 'High Performance' (personally I don't but that's just because of my next point).
- Don't let your CPU get too hot. If it does it'll reach a stage called 'thermal throttling' which will slow down your processing speed.

Then you could also try this if you really wanted to:
- Use a program like Advanced System Case 6 which can delete unnecessary files on your computer, remove broken links, etc.

In the case that it's just too many programs starting up at the same time go to your start menu and search for 'msconfig'. There you can stop programs from starting up on start up. (I wouldn't stop a program if you don't know what it does though).

Yeah, my desktop is much slower than it used to be, but I think that might be because it's old as hell (2008 or so). I update and defragment often too.

I set up every game to run at high performance...

Can that be a reason why it doesn't run faster (not games) ?

Btw what is actualy defragmenting hard disc ?

I use tuneup for removing unnecessary files...

Your laptop shouldn't be able to run certain games at highest settings. It's just not good enough. Try medium to lowest settings instead and see how that works.

Defragmenting a disk is basically like if you were to put all the books on your bookshelf in alphabetical order instead of being random. It makes it much easier for your computer to find data.

I mean before opening the game.

When i install it, it says how to run it (power saving or high performance).

I set high performance for every game, but i don't belive that it has anyhing to do with something else other than games.

Oh ok, so that's defragmenting. I'l try it...
