NFC Favorites?

Who da favorites in the NFC now? 49ers would have been the clear favorites, but I think Michael Crabtree being out for the season is gonna be tough on them, plus they haven't done much to patch up there secondary. I thought the Seahawks would be, but with Percy Harvin out 3-4 months, and being as speed reliant as he is, they still lack a true number one receiver. The Falcons could be it, but they were unable to patch up there secondary or bring in new pass rushers, so I'm not sure they separated themselves from the 49ers yet. The Packers are always there, but they haven't patched up any part of there defense and they have 2 unproven rookies at rb, but Rodgers will keep them competitive as always. The redskins rely too much on RG3 and that can be exploited by defenses, plus they have holes in the offense and defense.

So what do you guys think? Me? I think the Falcons have taken the lead in the race for the NFC due mostly to the addition of Steven Jackson.

:D I couldn't stay away from here. Football brings me back.

Boldin and Davis are standing out. Expect to see Davis running some really weird a*** routes.
I expect him to be lining up at TE and running wideout routes. This is going to be some seriously nasty s***.

Kaepernicks becoming a f***ing monster according to most scouts and press who are watching training camp. So pumped.

Going to say the Niners are still favored to win, my biggest concern was at Safety, but apparently Eric Reid is making up for Goldson's departure

My NFC division winners:

Giants (sorry I can't not be biased, but don't act like they don't have a good chance!)

Giants are a bad regular season team, but if somehow they get in the playoffs they always find a way to make it to the SB -____-

My favorites are the 49ers, they had the least problems, and I think they've added enough to their secondary to patch up, and a WR is the only think I'm hesitant about but Kyle Williams, Manningham, Boldin, and Jenkins seems to have gotten better so we'll see. :yay:

You know I hadn't realized how shaky the 49ers WR core was till a few days ago. Boldin and Vernon Davis will be there. We'll see if Davis can bounce back from last season, but outside of them, there's just unproven WR's. Jenkins has reportedly had a terrible training camp, manningham is coming off a torn ACL, Kyle Williams is unproven, and Quinton Patton is a rookie.

Edit - Any 49ers fans want to tell me whats the status on Nmadi Asomugha. lol idk how to spell his name. After Chris Culliver tore his ACL, i'm expecting him to make the roster. So that would mean Carlos Rogers and Tarell Brown on the outside with him in the slot or what?

It's tough to pick against your team. They are a bad regular season team and its very frustrating. So inconsistent. But when they get in, you know they have a good chance ;)

If I was forced to pick a team, 49ers as much as it hurts. But I think we all forget the Seahawks... Expect it to be very tight race for the division down to the wire. I think either the 49ers or Seahawks and the NFC East will give the two wild cards.

Well you gotta realize that when Asomugha was playing pro bowl caliber was with the raider in press/man to man, and when he went to the Eagles he played zone most of the time which wasn't his style. And right now reading camp reports and watching videos on their mini camp he is TEARING SH*T UP! Even tho Culliver went down I'm not worried about the secondary at all.

As for the WR group there's some worry, but aside form the rookies, Kyle Williams last year before he tore his ACL he was feasting with KAEP!

Boldin is a beast, lost a step but still great, Manningham is a good space guy, and Kyle Williams looks really good in camp right now, that just leaves the rookies to fill the rest and Kaepernick is gonna make'em look good either way.

Yeah I remember his raider days of dominance in the press style defense, but you have to think he must have lost a step at his age, so press coverage might be a little bit more difficult. Also another question. I believe the 49ers have a sorta hybrid defense, not sticking to any one style due to there amazing athletic ability on defense. Any truth to this? I only ask because the ravens play a hybrid defense and I figure the other brother may have taken some clues lol.

Edit - Also does anyone think it's a bad sign that the 49ers felt the need to even sign Austin Collie and Lavelle Hawkins?

Definitely not hybrid, but they do have flexibility to so as they may, and yea Asomugha may have lost a step but not to that extreme he can still tear sh*it up, and the press defense only plays to his advantage.

And the fact that those WR's were brought in does not worry me its just competition I doubt either will make the team.

Niners have 11(you read that correctly) WRs. Lol

Between kaep being a dual threat QB, gore, Davis and boldin the niners offense I'd set. Anything else is icing
