I'm quite new to Dragon ball so if there is a character like this already then I apologies. How would you feel if they created a villain who was nowhere near the same power level of Goku or any of the Z fighters, but is vastly superior mentally and could hurt Goku/Gohan at a mental & emotional level and even if they killed him it wouldn't matter because no matter what, he'd win in destroying Goku. Basically character like the Joker to his Batman, Lex Luther to his Superman etc. One thing I can see people note is that any damage this person could make can be undone by the Dragon Balls but remember the Dragon Balls can't fix’s everything such as emotional scares or someone dying from natural causes (the latter is something someone could exploit) and we've seen seen to a lesser extent Goku suffer like this before such as in King Piccolo arc. When Krillin and Master Roshi died (remember at this point King Piccolo had killed the Eternal Dragon and there was no way of getting him and the Dragon balls back. It's obvious from his emotions and his action that he is heavily affected by the events something that can clearly be seen during and post the final showdown with him. It's clear that the events matured him and affected him for the rest of his life. One could basically bombard either one of them with task after task of life threatening importance forcing to work at the peak constantly until they slowly become more warn both physically and mentally until at the point desperation, then the villain crushes him (somewhat like Bane in Batman Knightfall). |

As far as existing Dragon Ball villains go, I can think of three that fit the bill at least somewhat: Devilman, Babidi, Super Buu (absorbed). Since you stated you're fairly new to the series, I don't know if you've seen these guys, and if not, I don't know if you want me to go in-depth and spoil them for you. Anyways, the concept of a psychological villain is good as it breaks the mold DBZ got itself into so much, which was power PoWeR POWER!! Edited by Tatumjay, Jul 24 2013, 12:30 AM.

I think that Goku being frozen forever in a place where he can't eat or fight would be absolute agony for him. |

With Devilman, are you referring to the guy who worked for Fortuneteller Baba? As for the other two, I'm only somewhat aware with Super Buu and I have no idea Babidi is. Also I aplogies for the delay of my reply.

Yes, Devilman was the 4th fighter for Baba. If you can recall, his finishing attack was the Devilmite Beam which turns all of your evil thoughts into energy which he can use against you (or something very close to that). That doesn't fit your description perfectly, I know, but he's as close as it gets in Dragon Ball. I'll just say that Babidi doesn't really get psychological, just that he has the ability to, regarding his abilities. And Super Buu (absorbed) gets very psychological at a few parts. I would assume Gohan would be most effected by mind games, while Goku would suffer from being frozen. Gohan has so many issues in his abandonment, wanting to be normal, kidnapped, chi chis expectations, becoming a monster when he tortured cell and leading to Gokus death, etc. Goku acts like a kid with ADHD so yeah stopping him from roaming around, eating, and fighting for a prolonged time would be agony. Would likely hit Tien and Yamcha hard to as Tien stays away from the group because of his past most the time, and Yamcha has an inferiority complex. A psychological enemy would probably fit with Vegeta, Piccolo, 18, and Krillin overcoming him. Piccolo for not going his dads path. 18 for not choosing what she was programmed for and embracing humanity and free will. Krillin is the most honest with his feelings among the group, and the only one without the bad past, as well as the only pure human who sees the good in people whereas Yamcha and Tien still struggled accepting Piccolo and Vegeta. And Vegeta knows what he did, accepts who he was and is, and that damn pride is so damn prideful. This is kinda how Watanabe wanted to do BoG and Toriyama objected Edited by Kblo247, Jul 25 2013, 04:36 AM.
