I dunno if this is against the rules or anything so sorry in advance if it is. I was curious if porn sites are actually harmful to computers. I've seen some sites say that not all of them are, but I never really know which sites are credible. |

Depends on the site. Not all porn sites are dangerous if that's what you're asking, but there are a lot of them which will contain viruses and stuff. |

If you download porn from random sites, it can contain viruses. There are some good sites that you can simply watch from there (for free) that don't give you any viruses, malware, etc. There are also safe torrent sites, which I recommend if you want to download instead of watch online. Some of the most obvious ways to get a virus are to download from Limewire/Frostwire, or to install codecs or applications that say you must do so before viewing the video or whatever. Never do that type of stuff. Edited by Pyrus, Jul 12 2013, 03:55 AM.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

Viruses, spyware and malware are a concern. It is obvious what people use pornography for. It can be addicting. It makes putting malicious software onto a porn site that much more desirable than to put it on some rando site and hope you get a few credit card numbers. |

There is nothing inherently wrong or dangerous about any type of video file, but since those websites are the most frequently visited hackers and scammers quite often install malware on those websites to infect your computer. But it has nothing to do with the content. |
