I usually just drink a protein shake, followed by a lot of water. I don't know if this is the proper post workout foods, but I've done this for awhile. |

Salmon, chicken, and cooked eggs. Foods with high protein is the best to gain mass I work out some occasions at the gym and would eat these foods before I workout and after. |

Back in my lifting days, I'd do high carbs pre workout, and high protein and fat post workout. Eat meats, chickens, turkey, etc, and then take a protein shake. That'll make you gain quick. Just make sure you're doing heavy weight with low reps, and plenty of cardio. else you'll start gaining around your midsection. |

Doesn't really matter what it is as long as it's got a sufficient amount of protein. I go from ham to protein bars to an apple with peanut butter (peanut butter has a lot of protein). Also, it's best to eat something like that both an hour before and an hour after you work out. (Doesn't need to be exactly an hour as long as you give it sufficient time to be absorbed into your body). Edited by POOHEAD189, Jul 9 2013, 07:27 AM.
