That's going too deep into things, why is it important to find out how many times stronger this person is? Why should it matter? But it's what ever, I guess I kind of understand why ya be using these made up power levels; I just stay the hell away from them. I keep my things simple, Gohan>Goku, that's it. I don't care how big the gap is and all that, the manga says it, so I roll with it, I don't need to over think those things and come up with calculations.

Back in the day I used to find power levels important. Now I just try and use quotes and feats as proof. sometimes using rough numbers can help to prove your point, but they shouldn't be relied on.

It's not hard to explain these things without numbers, why would you need numbers "to explain how Super Boo>>>>>SSJ3 Goku"? Lol it's simple because it's flat out stated so these numbers aren't needed. I think these numbers complicate things, I mean how hard is it to just say, this guy is stronger than this guy? Why all of a sudden there is a need to figure the exact number of the gap and this and that? Akira was smart, but not this smart, I always ask myself if the Japanese do these things as well lol
Numbers make it look nicer & more accurate, not to mention they themselves look smarter (at least according to themselves) :D

Some people are satisfied with using just quotes or feats to prove a strength chain, while others feel the need to introduce numbers to prove their point more effectively. I don't mind either way.

Just because someone has numbers doesn't mean they are right, or accurate, or as close to accurate as possible. I do like that each individual as their own way of proving a strength chain or something like that. ^

It's cool to have something like that to do, to calculate some stuff up for DBZ, but I myself doesn't think they are everything. And they are definitely not my specialty.

Why are people so obsessed with power levels charts, etc. Seems like every forum you go to, you get asked that annoying question...WHAT POWER LEVEL DO YOU PLACE THIS GUY!?

What is the point? To kill time? Wasn't it clear in the manga that power levels were crap because there were beings that were able to manipulate their ki? So why are some people still crazy about it? Even with, Yo! Son! Vegeta reminds us that power levels are crap by letting his brother know not to trust that scouter. So why do we continue?
It's purely a hobby.

Think of how gun enthusiasts try to measure the firing speed and accuracy of their guns and debate about them. Or how geeks measure the specs of their computer.

yes vegeta said that do not trust that scouter ...

His reason was that the scouter displays only the current KI and the user might be fooled if he scout a suppressed foe

vegeta did not said that the powerlevels are crap
