I need help deciding which DBZ box sets I want to buy. I want the English dub, but I want it with the Japanese soundtrack including the opening themes (Cha la head chala, etc). Does the orange box release of the series include this option of having the English voices, but with all the Japanese opening and closing themes? |

The Orange Bricks as of right now are your only option as the Dragon Boxes are out-of-print. The problem with the Orange Bricks is that the picture quality sucks & 20 % of the picture is cropped. The Dragon Boxes were probably the best release, the series was going to have since its quality is far superior to the Orange Bricks & none of the picture is cropped, so you get everything 100%. The packaging is also premium with great little books (Dragon Books) accompanying each volume of the Dragon Boxes. Problem is they were limited. If you want to buy the complete series, now your only options are the Orange Bricks, but if you can wait, just recently FUNimation conducted a survey regarding Blu-Ray releases of the show, so you might want to hold off for a bit.

Right now I'm mainly interested in buying the Buu saga, and I actually have found the dragon box sets for those episodes for sale. I know the Dragon boxes have the combination I'm looking for (english dub with japanese soundtrack and openings), but the orange boxes are cheaper, so I'm trying to figure out if they what I'm looking for as well. |

If you want better quality & 100% picture, as well as some, great extras go for the Dragon Boxes. Although you may be dissapointed once you got all 3, cause then you'd always which you could complete the image that the Dragon Box forms.

If you are talking to me, I don't think he is interested in Kai as he said he wanted the Boo Saga. |

I think the Dragon Boxes suck, personally. inb4imobviouslywrong EDIT: "Suck" was a bad word choice. Aren't the best anymore, I should say. Edited by Pyrus, Jul 6 2013, 10:16 PM.

Are you saying that due to your rather heated debate with ObssesiveFanGirl, not too long ago cause the last part of your post implies it.

I think the orange bricks have the Japanese intro, but you gotta put it on Japanese audio. You can't have English audio with jap intro. |

He's trolling. The Dragon Boxes are the best release by far, and if you want the Buu saga, go for them. You won't regret it. |

I can put aside the cropping and line issues to allow the Orange Bricks into my household. I like the brighter coloring.
No, I was trolling in that debate obviously (for the most part). Here I'm having a change of heart because despite what some ignoramuses think, people do change opinions and values. |

A lot of people really rag on the quality of the orange bricks, and I can honestly say that they aren't THAT bad. People really make it out to be a lot worse than it is. Yes, it's cropped, but other than that, it's the highest image quality you can find. Dragon Boxes are extremely grainy and dim. The colors aren't bright at all. If you like that, well, great, but I don't lol. |

The quality is much better on the Dragon Boxes than on the Orange Bricks, but I really don't see a problem with owning the Orange Bricks or anything. It's still DBZ, just for the regular fan in my opinion. Either way, you're still getting the show on DVD. |
