How will the Patriots do without Aaron Hernandez?

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

As you are probably aware, Aaron Hernandez has been released by the Patriots and charged with first degree murder in the death of Odin Lloyd. What impact will this have on the already thin receiving corps of the Patriots? With Gronk fragile and all of Brady's top targets gone from last year, do they still have it in them to win the Superbowl? Could they even possibly lose the division title to the likes of Buffalo or Miami?

They'll be fine as long as they have Tom Brady I think. Still will win the division, but I don't think they are serious super bowl contenders right now.

Indeed, Brady has had a group of poor targets in the past as well, but, if Amendola goes down (and let's be real here, he will) defenses only have to focus in on Gronk. The Patriots might be surprisingly run first in the next few years, to preserve Tom Brady as long as possible and due to the rebuilding receiving corps. I can't see them not making the playoffs but their division is a lot more competitive.
