There are many differences between the Manga of Dragonball Z and the Anime. Here are a few: -When Tien Shinhan loses his arm while fighting Nappa, his arm becomes a stump with only a small amount of blood seen. In the manga, the scene is much more gory. -In the manga, Frieza kills Cargo, but in the anime Dodoria kills him. -In the original manga, Appule finds all the Namekians in the village attacked by Vegeta dead and tells Frieza, who just tells him to call the Ginyu Force. In the anime, the soldier is changed to another soldier referred to as "Orlen" in the closed captioning for the Ocean Dub VHS tapes. This soldier is killed by Frieza when he tells that he killed the last survivor of the village without asking him where Vegeta was. -In the manga, after Frieza survives Goku's Spirit Bomb, he immediately strikes down Piccolo with his Death Beam technique, but in the anime, he fires his beam at Goku, only for Piccolo to jump in the way and get struck down by the beam anyway. -In the manga, Frieza's full power was still never a match for Goku's Super Saiyan form, but in the anime, Frieza appears to have the upper hand for a short time before he begins to tire. -In the anime, when Vegeta is brought back to life on Planet Namek, he manages to witness some of the battle between Goku and Frieza, as well as Goku's Super Saiyan form, before being teleported to Earth by the Namekian Dragon Balls. In the manga, he is teleported to Earth almost immediately after being revived and does not get a chance to see Goku as a Super Saiyan for the first time until Goku returns to Earth himself later on. -When Dr. Gero first appears in the series (as Android 20), he grabs a man by the neck and tears him through the roof of a car. In the original manga, he crushes the man's neck afterwards, tearing his head off. -In the manga, when Goku fully recovers from the Heart Virus, Chi-Chi finds him simply looking out the window of the bedroom he was resting in at Kame House. In the anime, however, Chi-Chi finds him outside the house, firing several Kamehameha blasts across the ocean. -During Gohan and Cell's Beam Struggle in the anime, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha unsuccessfully try to distract Cell before Vegeta succeeds in doing so, whereas in the manga, they all simply observe the struggle and Vegeta is the only one to attack Cell from behind. -Though the flashback of Future Trunks and Future Gohan fighting Androids 17 and 18 is present in both the anime and the manga, there are notable discrepancies between the flashback and the scene depicted in the TV special Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks. In the special, Gohan had not lost his arm yet at beginning of the story, Trunks had not yet achieved his Super Saiyan form too, and there was rain in the scene in question. -When Vegito fights Super Buu (with Gohan absorbed) in the manga, Vegito immediately transforms into his Super Saiyan form. In the anime, Vegito fought in his base form for a while before becoming a Super Saiyan. -When Goku begins his battle against Kid Buu in the manga, he transforms immediately into his Super Saiyan 3 form. In the anime, however, Goku starts the battle as a Super Saiyan 2, and manages to hold his own against Kid Buu for a while before ascending to Super Saiyan 3. -In the manga, many characters have a different number of fingers on their hands; such as Piccolo (3 fingers and a thumb), Dodoria (3 thumb-like fingers), and Imperfect form Cell (two long fingers and a long thumb). In the anime, everybody has human-like hands with 4 fingers and a thumb Are there any other differences you can list? |

Instead of dealing with Chobie and his crazy dinosaur parents, Videl just discovered who Saiyaman was right at school. Without going through all of the circus crap. Goku hugged Gohan back in the manga before he took off to go fight Majin Boo. In the anime he pretty much gave him a slap on the back before telling him the same before leaving. |

I tried putting these in chronological order. There are so many from the Boo arc that I haven't listed either. ~In the anime, Gohan begins his fight with Dabura in Base and then later turns Super Saiyan. In the manga, the fight is already in progress with Gohan already transformed. ~In the manga, after No.18 reveals that Mighty Mask is Goten and Trunks, the boys run off because they've been disqualified. However, in the anime, they attack No.18 together regardless. ~In the anime, Dabura attempts to spit on Majin Boo. He doesn't do this in the manga. ~In the manga, after Goku returns from fighting Majin Boo, he continues training the boys for Fusion. In the anime, the boys don't obey him and think he's weak until he shows them Super Saiyan 3 up close, after which they listen to him again. ~In the manga, after Goku throws Gohan the Potara, Gotenks-Boo charges him and Goku turns Super Saiyan 3 in preparation for the fight, but Gotenks defuses inside Boo before a punch can be thrown and the fight is stopped before it can start. In the anime, Goku and Boo actually do fight for a little bit while Gohan is searching for the Potara in the rocks. ~In the anime, Goku and Vegeta fight Gohan-Boo as Super Saiyans before Vegeta finally gives in and puts the Potara on. In the manga, Vegeta gives in much quicker, before Boo has a chance to attack them. ~In the anime, after Kid Boo blows up Earth, he scours the universe, blowing up more and more planets in search of Goku and Vegeta. In the manga, he finds them right away. ~In the anime, after Kid Boo beats down Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta, Vegeta gets back up and continues fighting for a while, even managing to land a punch or two before Boo ultimately puts him down. In the manga, Vegeta is down after their first scuffle, and never lands a physical hit on Boo. Edited by Pyrus, Jun 30 2013, 11:23 PM.

Actually the Manga version of that scene doesn't contain much blood at all. It's incredibly tame.
Adding on to this: Vegeta was in base when he hit Cell in the manga while the Anime made him a Super Saiyan. |

In the Anime when Kibitoshin is telling Kid Buu's history he adds that he was the strongest as well as the most dangerous, completely f***ing up pretty much everything the saga had set out for us. |

Yeah, Kid Buu being the strongest in the anime is just absurd. It's a direct storyline CHANGE, which is wrong IMO. |

In the anime, Dabura has a quick fight with Majin Boo after impaling him with his spear, while in the manga, Boo kills him immediately after. In the anime, Goku fights Kid Boo as a SSJ2 before becoming a SSJ3; arguably, he fared better as an SSJ2 ![]() In the anime, Trunks fight Perfect Cell on equal terms after he announces that he's surpassed Vegeta before Cell shows that he can't lay a finger on him, while in the manga, Trunks never lays on a finger on him in the first place. In the anime, Ultimate Gohan fights Super Boo (Gotenks absorbed) on near-equal terms before Boo turns the tide, whereas he gains the upper hand immediately in the manga. In the anime, Super Vegetto is given a scare by the full power of Super Boo (Gohan absorbed), while in the manga, he completely tools him. In the anime, Gohan kills 8 Cell Jrs even though only 7 were created; this is not the case in the manga. Also, they test out a bunch of attacks on him in the anime. In the anime, Vegeta and Goku fight Super Boo while they're inside him, whereas in the manga, Vegeta cuts down Fatty immediately and escapes. |
