Did anybody else watch the Golovkin fight against Matthew Maklin?

This Golovkin guy has to be one of the scariest boxers I've ever seen. Such destructive power in every punch. Every jab seems to rock his opponents like they are being hit by a truck, and this guy's a middleweight. He doesn't even load up on his punches, they come straight from his hip. He throws punches perfectly. The man is a machine. I've never seen anything like it. Even Tyson wasn't this perfect.

You know what makes it worse? The man has no expression on his face when he fights. He is completely calm the whole way through. It's frightening. Then you look at how he closes the ring off from his opponents and forces them to move how he wants them to so that he can land perfectly executed punches.

His ability does present some problems. He is perhaps too perfect for his own good. Nobody will want to challenge him after what he did to Maklin. In my opinion, all he can do is move up in weight and try fighting Andre Ward. It will be interesting to see how he performs with the extra weight. Somehow I don't think it will make any difference to his boxing. It certainly won't hurt his power. He is the only person in the world who has a chance at beating Ward. But only if the weight gain has little effect on his boxing. This is pretty much the only direction he can go now since nobody in their right mind will want to fight him after tonight. He's a different class to everyone.

I think maybe they should examine him though just to make sure he doesn't have a metal endoskeleton under his skin because I'm fairly sure he is an android :p

I think you forgot about a guy called Sergio Martinez, i think he has the skill to beat GGG. Also there is Daniel Geale who he hasn't faced. I think if he beats those two, then he can move up to S. Middleweight. And at S. Middleweight he would have to get beat Carl Froch before thinking of fighting Ward.

But Maklin was able to go 11 rounds with Martinez and even knocked him down. Maklin is world class and pretty mucbh on Martinez's level. He didn't have nearly as much trouble fighting him as he did Golovkin. In fact several people have been knocking Martinez down recently. He isn't the fighter he once was. Martinez will likely not want to fight Golovkin after what he did to Maklin. The results would likely be similar or worse. I agree with you about Froch though. However I also think that golovkin should try somebody a bit less good at that weight first, just to get used to the weight and see how he can perform with a different body type. If he still destroys his opponent then try Froch, then Ward.

Of course this all depends if they want to fight Golovkin. They might have other plans. I think he is likely to be sidestepped more than anyone else.
