How did Goku's family make a Living ?

 This is before Cell games . I am sure Goku didnt have any job . Gohan was a kid . Chichi didnt have a work for sure. So , form where did thy earn money ? and yet , before the Budokai , Chichi said that "the money left by goku is almost gone" .

Ox King was wealthy. I'm sure he had a big part of the Son Family making it Post DB all through EOZ.

 Goku was shown to be entirely self-sufficient. His family likely lived a similar lifestyle... living off the land. Any spending would be minimal.

Example one off purchases:
- house
- furniture
- utensils

Example ongoing costs:
- clothing
- rice
- restocking spices/condiments
- books for Gohan

...and the one-time champion, two-time runner-up should have earned something from the tournaments. Those winnings would be able to cover the above ongoing examples for a good while if Mr Satan's earnings/lifestyle is any example to go by.

How do we know that Ox King was wealthy ?
Well i agree with vertical . Goku did win some Prize money . but i doubt that would keep his family in bay till the buu saga

I think I actually read on Kanzenshuu that he was wealthy and took care of the house with and without Goku there.

And have you watched or read Dragon Ball, my friend? Ox owned castles and all that.

She wanted Goku to go out and get a job. I'm sure she doesn't want her dad supporting her and her family for the rest of their lives.

 Goku was a radish farmer, I'm sure that's stated in a D2. He probably made some money of that.

Oh, and it was in the OVA "Yo! Son Goku and His Friend Return!" too.

So what do we go with, him being a Raddizh farmer, or her telling him to get a job the whole time through the manga or both?? :huh:

Personally.. I can see him maybe being a farmer through the 5 year gap between DB & Z. But that's about it. And that's hard to believe considering what Chi Chi constantly says to him.

Yessir. I would post a viz scan for ya.. But I'm lazy, I'll have to dig and find where exactly -- but she very well does more than once in the manga and on my subs.

Actually.. Go check when she allows Gohan to train with Goku in the HTC. She agrees but tells him to get a job.

 Chichi was worried because as Buu saga was starting she spent a lot of her father's money, and she was worried that she couldn't do afford her normal lifestyle anymore. That's why she allows Gohan to join the tournament.
