There is are a lot of companies that do plenty of milking. But I can't see FUNimation as one of them. So they are releasing a classic anime on Bluray; that's milking? What? Bluray is the standard now. Nothing comes out and isn't on Bluray. Most people have Bluray players. So...why is it milking to release it on Bluray? It seems to be keeping up, not milking. People like high definition. |

There have been so many releases of the show now that it feels like milking to me. Ultimate Uncut, Level sets, Orange Bricks, Dragon Box, two different sets of DVDs IIRC, etc. |

I agree with Pyrus, but I also think Coolest has a point. If I am going to buy a series or a movie, I always look to see if a blu-ray has been released. |

You must not pay attention. Funi DBZ Releases- Original uncut singles (DVD and VHS) Ultimate Uncut Singles Orange Bricks Dragon Boxes Blu-Ray Level Sets and of course if you want to include DBZ Kai single sets (DVD and Blu-Ray) DBZ Kai Collection sets They already tried to release the series on Blu-Ray and it failed. The remastering was too expensive and they weren't making enough money. While I liked that release I basically wasted my money and I have no interest in buying DBZ again. And guess what? People buy them. Obviously there is a market for it, or a company wouldn't spend millions producing something. FUNimation isn't a bunch of nerds who watch anime all day; it's a business. They do things to make money. If people are still watching Dragonball Z (which they are), the company who produces the materials will keep pushing stuff out. As long as it's new, that's not milking IMO. The 291 episodes uncut has never been released on Bluray, with (apparently) the exception of two seasons. I'll be buying. |

I'm not saying I wouldn't want a Blu-ray version over a lesser quality like DVD, but what's next? THE DBZ BOX: "Now you can own the entire show in one six-disc Blu-ray box set! Yeah!" Edited by Pyrus, Jun 21 2013, 05:49 AM.

=/ I really don't even see how that compares to releasing it on Bluray haha. You're jumping the gun there a LOT for no reason. |

I don't think I am. I'm just somewhat illustrating the point that FUNimation will keep re-releasing the series with nothing new to add to it, regardless of how many times they've already done it. They could actually finish this Blu-ray set and then half a year later come out with an exact duplicate set except the second set will have one or two more audio options. Like what the hell's the point really? |

IIRC, they tried releasing the entire series on Blu-Ray before BoG was announced. Now that the movie has been out for a few months, and popularity has been rising again, they are trying again. This time however, if might actually work. |

But the English/American audience hasn't seen Battle of Gods. It'd be a much better business move to release it around the time we get the movie. Edited by Pyrus, Jun 21 2013, 06:04 AM.

BoG definitely raised my interest in DBZ after it was announced and released, even though I've never seen it. What's your point? |

Doesn't matter. They know it is out, and that Akira Toriyama is involved. Funimation has the rights to re-release DBZ on Blu-Ray, while they do not have the rights for BoG, yet. It might even take a long time for them to get it, and I doubt they are willing to wait that long. People will buy it just because the movie was released. |

They had a poll and asked fans. If they are pleased with the feedback, then who are we to say it's dumb? |
