You are mature enough to doubt your opinion and accept your likings. That's maturity. It's not what you do that defies how mature you are, it's what you think. |

I have to admit I am lost on the concept of "immaturity." If the concept is that those who engage in activities associated with young people are immature, then why does the concept carry such a stigma? Truth is, whether something is associated with young people does not matter because most entertainment/activities have something for everyone, regardless of one's qualities (i.e. their age). For example, Dragon Ball Z has many moral themes which are heavily picked up on and valued by DBZ fans of an older age. To be frank, something like "watching DBZ" and "im/maturity" are as closely related as physics and chicken. It is my belief that immaturity is evident through things like delinquent behavior and poor morals... you know, things that are actually linked to immaturity. Lastly, do not change your behavior (in a way of suppression) to please another. Edited by Tatumjay, Jun 10 2013, 09:05 AM.

You really will end up regretting it if you let the opinion of someone else take away something you truly enjoy. It's just like how Chi Chi says to Goku martial arts are a waste of time and he should grow up and get a job. Does Goku ever listen to her? Hell no because fighting is what he loves to do and he'll be damned if he's gonna let anyone or anything keep him from doing that. Want to know how to be mature? Stick to your own opinion and standpoint and be prepared to defend it. Edited by 90sDBZ, Jun 10 2013, 12:28 PM.

I just know if my dad saw the dvds of dbz I have in my closet or saw me watching it he would tell me to grow up and probably make me get rid of them. I feel immature for trying to hide it from him but it is what makes me happy and I like it. I try not to watch a lot of it though. Just every once in a while. |

Wel, I'm 24 and watch it frequently, so if you're immature, I'm immature. It's not exactly the Teletubbies, I mean, there is plenty of violence and death, plenty of adult situations for sure. Still not sure how this makes you, or me, for that matter, more immature than middle aged men who spend half their time following football. |

For the record, my dad started watching (and enjoying) DBZ when he was 36. The guy got ME into DBZ. So ... no, I don't think so. Admittedly, he now taunts me for enjoying the DVDs now I'm 21 and not 8 ... but considering he's the one asking me to put the next disc in the player ... taking that into consideration, watching DBZ used to be, and to a degree, still is a family event. Especially now that my sister quite enjoys it, too.The way I see it: I have enough adult things to worry about, both fiscally and personally. DBZ is something I enjoy in my down time - I like to kick back and watch a few episodes when I have the chance. It takes me back to that time when I didn't have all the things to worry about that I do now. I have my down time, and I have my responsibilities. Simple. And as others have pointed out, there are some things, especially in the uncut releases, that aren't traditionally 'for kids'. Not saying DBZ was ever aimed at adults as such, but there are certain things, as well, that you appreciate further down the line; because you're able to 'get' them. I've noticed that lately. If you can afford the DVDs and merchandise, then go for it; admittedly, I wouldn't go spending the money I need to live on or buy food with, but spare cash, then sure. If you enjoy it, go for it. There are WAY worse things to be spending your time and money on. =) |

I love how you simply accept yourself and just say you're immature, man. That shows how mature you really are, take it from me. |

Don't worry about what your dad thinks. I'm 20 (approaching 21 next month) and I still watch Pokemon, Arthur, Spongebob, etc. I don't care what people say or think about me. It;s not about them, it's about me. As long you're happy, that's all that matters. |

Well I'm 13 but I really doubt i'll ever grow out of Dragonball, actually most Mangas\Animes are meant for adults, well maybe not only adults, just not children. There's nothing wrong with liking Dragonball at your age, there's nothing wrong with it at any age, really

No, in fact, if you dont watch at 19, you are IMMATURE. Edit: Most people who don't watch it, would say yes, and call you a child. Hell, my mother even said it when she saw me buying little gohan action figures. It really doesn't matter because if you like it, then thats all that matters. Everyone enjoys something that is considered childish, trust me, everyone does. Edited by Master Gohan, Sep 4 2013, 12:33 AM.
