I own the whole dbz series in remastered form. My dad says I should get rid of them and tells me you need to grow up sometime. Is watching dbz at that age childish, or immature. What is your opinion. |

My dad plays with lego, as do I (I'm 19 too). It's got nothing to do with immaturity, it's just how you roll Nothing really that appealing about an adult environment anyways. |

My Dad watches DBZ together with me whenever he's free. Cell & Buu Saga were his fav. There are no age-limit for anything pal. Cartoons/anime's are forms of entertainments. As long as ur entertained, its fine. |

You can still be a mature, responsible person and enjoy entertainment intended for younger audiences. |

It really gets at me when people try and say there are certain age limits for watching certain shows, or doing particular things. Age has nothing to do with it. As long as you enjoy it, why does it matter to him or anyone how old you are? It's usually down to the fact that people like that aren't secure enough to like things they consider "childish" and therefore get jealous when people are. If you enjoy it, then don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Life's all about trying to find things that make you happy. |

"Then you've got the chance to do better next time." "Next time?" "Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is." | |

lol absolutely not. This isn't like spongebob or something, it's geared for an older audience as well. Plus there's the nostalgia factor too so plenty of people who watched it in the 90s may one day decide to rewatch DBZ and enjoy it again even if they're much older now. |

My mom and dad still watch Tom and Jerry if they catch it on TV because they watched it when they were younger. So it makes sense that somebody would watch something they watched as kids even when they're older. I think a person can watch anything they want if they like it, even if its meant for younger people. And besides a show where they show each other "the finger", impale eachother, kill eachother and has Master Roshi in it, isnt exactly meant for todlers IMO. |

Considering one of the most popular things to watch in this country, among adults and kids alike, is 90 minutes of men kicking a ball around; I don't think anything I watch can be considered childish. |

Yes it is immature but what's more immature is getting drunk or football chanting etc. I think most people have childish hobbies. So don't let it bug you if you like to watch it. Edited by Zenet, Jun 1 2013, 01:17 PM.

Question your dads reasoning. Ask him: "Does my enjoyment of Dragonball Z or other cartoons affect other people negatively?" There is no valid reason to stop doing something you enjoy that doesn't affect others negatively. |

Yeah bro, you just have to go with it. Watch and do what's in the best interest for you. You don't want to "grow up" one day and look back and regret that you've spent all of your younger years trying to be a grown up or mature, so you live the rest of your life regretting that you didn't enjoy your childhood, childhood memories, nostalgia, and things you enjoyed because of you listening to someone else's advice about being immature. You'll enjoy yourself more if you don't listen to people and do what's best for you. I'm 19 going on 20 and I can honestly say DBZ is a big part of my life and I wouldn't have achieved or got as far as I did without it. |
